I feed my ferrets Stella & Chewy's FDR. However, it has Pumpkin seed listed as the 4th ingredient in their Chick Chick Chicken dinner and their Tum Tickl'in Turkey and its listed as the 5 ingredient in their Duck Duck Goose. They boast 98% organs, meats and bones. Do I have to switch to another product? And bringing up the subject of FDR, I read something about it in 'The Switch' that its very addicting like kibble. Is FDR just as bad as kibble? I thought it is a better alternative. Can someone clarify?

No, it's fine And no, it isn't nearly as bad, especially if you feed it rehydrated.

Thank you Sherry! Phew! that's a relief. I noticed since I ditched the kibble and went full on with the FDR their poops are much smaller. It's amazing how much more their metabolizing and their energy level went up a couple of notches, too.

I've not used pumpkin for loose stool and have not had any blockage issues but I do find that when I feed a couple mice a couple times a week my little guy has great stool! I also use egg once a week for hairball prevention and usually give that to him on days he has two bone in meals.
