Ive recently jus took him to the vet and the doc told me he is very laid back and he is heslthy except for ear mites then I was given medicine... but once ive had him in my house he hasnt been doing no war dances or playing like ive seen him do before its like hez changed im still trying to let him adjust but he doesnt like to go thru tube he is scared of hights and sumtimes he would climb but im worried he is jus either adjusting or very lazy or jus has that thing called insolima or sumthing like 5hat... I see him get hyper sumtimes a bit he would hop around bu5 nuthi g spectacular like ferrets usually would do. Now yesterday I gave him his tube of pasty which has vitamins and everything and I put that liquid in his water to get him extra vitamins ive seen 5hat his poop has been actually normal and a good amount but after I have givein him a treat yesterday he threw is up . It was a tiny bit of gook and the trat kind of came out solid... and today I gave him ano5her treat and my usual and he also 5hrew it up 5hen ate it like a pig. Ew. Maybe kuz I was playi g eith him a bit much and maybe all the diff ty op es of foods isnt going down right... but im actually not sure wat to do kuz the vet is far fro. Me to take him being that I live in the bronx and ferrets are illegal in the 5 boroughs of ny. Wst I dont get is that my vet said he was great and thats jus his laid bak personality which I honestly think now im goin to have to go double check

He's bonded with your mother, so is probably depressed right now.

Some of the lack of enthusiasm could be depression from leaving your mother's house. The throwing up is concerning & at times a sign of blockage. I'd check everything for signs of chewing. Also give him a tsp of 100% pure pumpkin mixed with 1/2 tsp of Vaseline every hour. He should begin having regular orange poos with in a few hours of this. If he can't keep this down or is having thin or small poos, I'd take him in to be examined.

Odds are he is simply depressed, but to be on the safe side, treat for a possible blockage. Get a can of pure pumpkin, not the pie filling. There will be only pumpkin listed in the ingredients. Give him a tbsp of that. If he won't take it, try mixing about 1/2 a tsp of oil in it and warming it very slightly and mix thoroughly. Most will take it with finger feeding this way. Follow this up an hour later by 1 tsp white vaseline or lax. What you want to see are big orange stools.

For the depression you can pick up or order some Bach's Rescue Remedy. Put 4 drops of this in his water daily.

My juju is around 3 or 4 and still new to this house. He was bonded to another ferrent and it made him so stressed that 2 days after bringing him home I had to take him to the vet for blood in his stool. By the time I got him to the vet he had 3 types of poop samples, 1 bright red,1 dark dark red, and one bright yellow. I was told it was just stress and with some meds his bowls got right but for the most part he just lays about. A couple weeks ago I saw a spark of joy from him but that took over a month. It was the only joy so far and he is still pretty mopey and he is hateful to the other ferrets. It's going to take sone time. They can't understand why their mom is suddenly gone.
I was reading a bob church article that was dealing with biting ferrets but the bonding process he describes should be helpful in other instances. What he suggested was to hold the ferret a few times a day and take a warm damp cloth and wipe their faces for a few then their bellies and lastly their bums just like their moms would have done when they were kits. It has worked wonders with my Lillybug and I'm going to start it with Juju too. We can't erase their old ferrents from their memory of course but we can try our best to get bonded enough with them that they will be happy with us too and become happy little weasels again.
