Well i have been hearing about Deslorelin on here and also joey the trained ferret on youtube has the implant but my question is if i were to do the implant instead of fixing would that be better? Also could i have two male ferrets on Deslorelin would they get along because i dont want them to start a fight when they come into season. and do you think that Deslorelin would be a goid choice or should i just get them fixed i want the safest way i dont really want to get him fixed :/ (just thinking into the future so i have a plan of which i want to do when i *hopefully* get my kit) Thanks!!

And that's the million dollar question . Des has been used as a chemical castration for male ferrets since 2006. So not all that long. Some questions have been raised with it concerning breeding stock simply not coming back into season even after the des should have worn off. Myself, I really think that given you are in the US then I would seriously consider using it if the breeder is agreeable. It will have to be replaced likely every year to 18 months. But it does help ward off adrenal since the gonads are left where they should be. And no, they won't fight because they simply don't come into season as long as the des is effective.

How long do I have to wait for the implant (7 months old hobs )? I have also two jills, one of them was implanted on September 1912 and the other had her babies on June. I don't want surgical castration by any means.

It depends on where in the world you live. I've been waiting almost 2 years. Some only wait as long as their next vet visit.

Thank you, sherry. I visited my vet last thursday and he implanted both males and a female. He told me I must wait a few days before letting them be together, hobs and jills, until they went out of season. 7 days from then and they are showing season's behaviou s. How long does it last, please?

Your hob's testicles should be drawn back up and the females vulvas gone completely down.

From what we've been seeing your wee jill should be out within the week. I wouldn't put either of them together before your jill's vulva is down. My understanding is that you should see your end results within 14 days or sooner. ciao
