Got to love momma's wishes, albeit a little odd lol. Nancy, how do you set up your nursery? I noticed you mentioned her moving her little ones. What do you use for bedding initially and how do you set momma up so that she's comfortable in a nest and doesn't go off and stash her little ones in some odd corner? ciao

Heather, I have a crap cage of some kind (probably a SuperPet) that I got some years ago. The top is made of wire that's too flimsy and these guys can bend it and get out but it has a 6 inch deep solid plastic bottom so that's what I used as a whelping cage since there was no danger of a newborn kit falling out. I started out with a sleep sack but Cricket made it very clear she didn't care for it so I went to a box of cut up fleece pieces. That, she was happy with. At 3 weeks I removed the top of the cage and moved the whole little family from the bedroom to the bathroom with a barrier across the door to keep Cricket in. She was wanting a bit of activity by that point and this was the simplest way to provide it. The kits still couldn't crawl out of the cage base at that time. That was when she took it upon herself to move them while I was cleaning up and the door was unobstructed. Now, of course, they can motivate quite well so I did away with the cage all together and moved them as I said yesterday. They're confined in the playpen and back in the bedroom.

Where do we sleep? Why, behind the litter pan of course. What makes you ask? Cricket's head in the middle of the pic. Whatcha doin' with my babies? Yes, we dig in the litter box. Centerfold pose. Hob face. That's it for today.
