With the chunks- start adding in two or three larger pieces every time, but give a bit less food to start. You can add more later. With the necks take a cleaver and chip the bejeepers out if one. You want the pieces to be small as well. Odds are they aren't going to eat it just yet- it's more to give them another texture, and to get them used to how bone feels.

So I can put them in the blender and pulse them? I have a problem with Waffle eating the larger chunks. Any suggestions?

No, bones will break or burn out your blender This you have to do by hand. For Waffle, try cutting the meat small, but long. Think meat "spaghetti". That way he still gets the feel of small in his mouth, but learns to chew at the same time.

I do not have a cleaver yet so I have not been able to do the chicken necks. I do have them eating 3/4 large chicken slivers and 1/4 soup mixture. I still have a problem with Waffle eating the larger chunks, and am working on it with her. I will let you know as soon as my cleaver comes in and I start giving them bone. I will ten post every 2-3 days.

Definitely start increasing the size of the chunks now(in the manner I mentioned previously) They need to be eating the plain meat chunks soon to get the practice at chewing they'll need for eating bones.

How small do you want the chicken necks? I have a Ninja Blender/Processor that can chop up bone and tried on neck to see how it did. It chopped up small pieces of bone like the size around of a fork tine. is that to small?

Hi Sherry.... Hope this finds you well..... I have finally found and ordered Grizzly Salmon Oil and Sea Pets Triple Marine Oil...... I also used my Ninja Blender to chop up the chicken Necks and added it to the soup mixture I am adding to the top of there small chicken chunks........ They are getting about 3 Tlbs. of chicken small chunks and 1 Tlbs. of Chicken Soup with Bone Mixture on the top...... They have had two meals of it and so far seem to eat it up with the exception of spitting the small bones out and leaving them on the plate... LMAO ....... I will start checking in every two or three days..... Do you want the full report with weight and all?
I have a question.... I hope it is not to dumb ....... But I was reading somewhere that if I buy chicken pre-cut that it is soaked in something and is not good for the ferrets...... I have been buying chicken thighs as the 8oz. of meat for the soup and using boneless skinless breasts for there small chicken slivers/chunks..... I found the breast easier to slice and chop if they are partially frozen and have a problem getting my ferrets to eat the skin..... I cannot seem to get the skin to chop up even in the blender..... So am I doing this all wrong?
Everyone seems to be eating pretty good .... Gus has recently started rat tail again .... IDK if it is diet related or if it is just going to happen every year at this time...... Anyways... I am cleaning it every other day with an astringent and baby soap..... so hopefully he won't loose any more hair on the bottom of his tail ....

Oh... I forgot one more question..... How much of each do I mix of the Salmon oil, Marine oil & EVOO.... Do I give it to them on a spoon or just mix it in their food? I use to use FerreTone.... But when I learned how it wasn't really good for them... I used the rest of the bottle and never got anymore..... I use to use FerreTone to help when I clip there nails.... Put a little on there belly and they don't even know what is going on.... Will I be able to do the same with the new oil mixture? I have tied giving just EVOO..... They do NO like the taste of that ..... LMAO .... So I had to mix it in there food to get them to take it....
I certainly hope they like it mixed with the other oils.....

The concerns with precut meats is if they've been "enhanced". It will say that on the package though, so if it doesn't don't worry about it. It's also time to get more proteins as well as heart, liver, and other organ into them to prevent deficiencies. And no, you don't need to do a full report until the weekly weigh in for them With the oils, I give the salmon OR fish oil 1/2 tsp every third day. And yes, you can use the fish oils for nail trimmings as well

I am giving them the organs in the soup mixture, do I need to add more, do I need to give just organs? How would you like me to add it and I added the neck bones chopped up from my Ninja blender to their soup mix.... I just made a big batch.... enough for probably a months worth... maybe month and a half......do I need to get more necks and chop them and just give necks?
I do not have to mix EVOO to the salmon or Marine oil? Should I alternate the oils when I give it to them?

The idea is to get them working toward whole meats, not staying on soup. Which is the reason for working in slivers and chunks. In that vein they will need to learn to accept heart, liver, as well as another organ(whatever you can get). You will be working toward them eating things like full necks, wings, hearts, livers, etc.

Do I just put the heat and liver on a plate? or do I try and cut it up into pieces like the slivers and chunks? I am not giving them a lot of soup. The get 2oz of chicken sliver/chunks with 1oz of soup on top like a gravy. Waffle won't touch the sliver/chunks without a little soup mixture on top of it. I am working on Waffle and Gus eating bigger slivers. Pixie will just eat it no matter what. Tonight when I fed Gus his evening one ounce meal, He chewed on some of the bone pieces that were mixed in it. I am sorry if it seems like I am not getting it. I promise I am trying. I may seem a little slow out the gate but I do catch on..... LMAO

That's fine! Not to worry Heart and liver I actually had to puree and hand feed with mine at first. With all of them you really need to start increasing size and amounts to get them off the soup ASAP. Once that's down they need to have bone introduced as well as new proteins. They should have been on bone by now.
