Hi Sherry,
Unfortunately when I went to the market on Saturday, the people that said they would be able to get the other chicken parts for me now say that they are not able to.
Are you able to find these parts anywhere else? I am still attempting kidney with Cyrus but she still hates it. Zeus has been eating a bit but not much.

I can look for something like that at the pet store. Right now we aren't able to spend a whole lot but hopefully there will be something more in our price range. Is any supplement for cats and dogs ok, or are there special things to look for? Also, what does this stuff do?

It's simply like a multivitamin For now if all you can get into them is liver, increase the amount by half and when you can get the supplement At the same time- keep an eye out for dehydrated kidney or lung. Cost isn't much and frankly it's the only way I can get kidney into mine In the interim let's get your menu posted and get you graduated finally!

Hi sherry,
Sorry for the late reply. I will look for the multi vitamin in the next few days and will then post their feeding schedule. Sorry I am super busy right now but will try to do this ASAP.

Hi Sherry,
I found beef esophagus today - i bought the ferrets one but just want to confirm that it is ok for them to eat. Could this replace beef kidney instead of the vitamin you have suggested?

Hi sherry,
Just wanted to let you know we have tried the esophagus twice and hasn't gone so well, but I think it will get better. They at least sniff it and take licks of the oil when it is on the plate, which rarely happens when we use kidney.
This week I am going to try tiny chunks and hopefully they will lick it up when they lick the oil.
Also, I was wondering if olive oil is a necessary part of their daily diet. Most of the bone and meat they will eat without any oil but not sure if the oil is needed or not.
Thanks Breanne

Okay- could you do up a menu regardless? To be honest you do seem to know what you are doing

Hi Sherry,
Bone meal every morning and then afternoon meals consist of two bone meals, two meat meals, two heart meals and a liver meal. We are trying to make one of the heart meals into different kind of organ.
Also could you please answer the question about olive oil in my previous post? I think you missed it.
Thanks Breanne

Sorry, did miss it! No, cut the olive oil back to 2-3 times a week And I will admit to being confused by your menu? Could you do a Mon-Sun one with the different proteins listed please I confuse easily, especially right now Nearly a month off the cigs and sick to boot

Hi Sherry sorry for the confusion.
The ferrets get two meals every day. One in morning and one in afternoon (divided by a / in menu below)
Sunday bone meal/ bone meal Mon bone meal/ meat meal Tuesday bone meal/ liver Wednesday bone meal/ bone meal Thursday bone meal/ meat meal Friday bone meal/ heart meal Saturday bone meal/ heart meal
Bone meals consist of either turkey neck or chicken wings or turkey wings
Meat meals consist of turkey or chicken (no bone)
We are trying to switch one of the heart meals to a kidney meal or to some other kind of organ (would beef trippa be ok to try with them, instead of kidney?)
Thanks

If they'll take it, yes. But only green tripe- not the white stuff you get in the grocery stores. That's had all the nutrition bleached out of it. I'm really glad you posted this. You need to get some other proteins in the ASAP. Pork, beef, lamb, goat, Cornish hen, even fish. They need a minimum of three proteins to meet the basic dietary needs, preferably more.

ok Sherry we woke up to Cyrus puking her meat up. Is this something we should take her to the vet for. It has happened before but it is not common. She seems fine after she does it. Cant seem to send you a picture, but it looks exactly like the turkey neck, almost as if she hasn't digested it at all yet so she must have ate it recently. does this happen occassionally to some ferrets? .
