So, TTFR and I went to the vet today. It was a bittersweet visit; Mojito, SoCo and Lelloo were able to say goodbye to Dingo (Rest and dook in peace our friend)
Lelloo and Mojtio got their Lupron shots. Mojito made me proud, he took his shot like a little champ- didnt even flinch. I was like woooow its done?
The doctor looked SoCo over, he said it doesnt look like he has ringworm he looked him over with the black light thing (I forget what its called) and then, just incase, brushed him with a steril tooth brush to do a culture on any hair that came off him, so we'll know for sure in a week. Unfrotunately he had earmites so everyone had to get meds for that, but doc gave me enough meds to take home to Kahlua and to readminister in 3 weeks to everyone-- and he didnt even charge me for the earmite treatment at all.
Overall Im really happy/satisfied/comfortable with the doctor there- he has 7 (i think he said 7, lol) fuzz of his own and is supportive of raw feeding.

That's great news about Mojito! What a good boy That sucks about the earmites - petstores never seem to check and take care of those issues This is a good example why a ferret should be quarantined before being introduced to the rest of the business. Never know what these adorable little things can bring home Glad he didn't charge you - that was awfully nice!

Sounds like they did well The girls have always been fantastic for their lupron shots. My wuss is Zeus ;D Once that needle comes out, if he sees it, he starts backing away whimpering, poor boy. Once the tech was holding a pen, and he thought it was another needle. Not a chance he was even going to stay on that table long enough to even finish his 'tone ;D

We've had SoCo for about a month and he doesn't live with Mojito and Kahlua (since he and Kahlua don't get along yet), though he is in the same room and plays with Mojito. The doc said either way its best to medicate everyone, even if he had been 100% quarentined. The doc was a really nice guy, Im glad TTFR brought me to him

Lelloo is one of TTFR's girls, she didnt do as well as Mojito, i must say. She actually jumped and bit down on the Linatone bottle the nurse had us feeding them, lol. It made me prouder of my big tough man, haha. Awww poor Zeuse, sounds like he needs to take bravado lessons from Mojito lol

Quick question: Will the Lupron shot help with the incontenance? I was thinking of trying to make him a diaper but if the lupron will/does help with that, i wont bother. Also, I just realized that the doc never said anything about the incontenance- even though I put it as one of his symptoms and I even mentioned it.. he didnt say ne thing/ask questions.. is that concerning? I mean I know that incontenance can be related to adrenal issues but it also COULD be something else.. also, if the lupron shot SHOULD help with incontenance and it doesnt, does that make it more likely to have a different cause than adrenal

It helps with the leakage of urine, if that's what you mean by incontinence, yes. At least it has with Zeus.

If he still has urine issues, I would have the vet maybe take a look at it specifically, to rule out some other cause

Thanks, I will. How long should I wait? I know that sometimes the Lupron takes awhile to take affect, we did the 3 month one which, if Im understanding correctly is on a time release?
Also, I had another slight concern but I wanted to give Mojito a few days to work his kinks out, since this is the first time I've taken him to the vet (not sure about weather or not his previous owners ever did)... He seemed alright last night but prior to that I've noticed that ever since the vet visit/lupron he has been really lethargic and although hes been eating, its not as much.
He usually gets up as soon as my fiancee walks in the door and, if hes in the cage, begs to come out or attacks daddys leg if hes already out, since the lupron shot/vet visit he hasnt. Last night he didn't. He also hasnt even been looking up/taking notice when we come in the door and hadn't been darting for the exit when he saw his opportunity. Last night he was already out when my fiancee came home and we went in and Mojito stayed curled up in a sleep sack, My fiancee pulled him out and did all the usual stuff to get him riled up, usually it only takes a few seconds but nothing seemed to get him out of his funk for at least 30 mins. Finally he was up and playing around, much more like his old self and he even hauled butt for the door. My fiancee let him run around the apartment a little which seemed to get him super excited but he got tired a lot quicker than before. Him getting tired quicker than usual isn't abnormal since hes been sick but it seems like its even quicker since hes had the lupron shot... After he got tired I put him in the cage with Kahlua and for the first time since the lupron shot he was excited to eat. He didnt seem like "Im eating so you get off my case" but more like "goodness I am hungry and this is better than ambrosia" Is this kind of reaction normal? I was thinking that he was upset over the vet OR, since my mind likes to lean toward worst case senerios, no matter how outlandish, maybe by some stroke of awful luck he was having a bad reaction or something (if thats even possible?) to the lupron BUT since he was apparently feeling better last night, Im thinking more along the lines of stressed/upset over the vet/shot.. So I was just wondering what everyones thoughts were?

Mine only get the monthly shot, but yes, they are lethargic for a few days following.

Okay, I wasnt expecting that. I had ment to look up what side affects/reactions to expect before we went in but I was so nervous it totally slipped my mind

He should hopefully pick back up in a few days. It took Sinnead 2 shots to start getting back to what she had been prior to adrenal, but she did!
