Alas, there was no Ferret Nation cage to buy. I *DID* get to play with 4 of the ferrets. BeeBee (boss lady), BeauBeau (BeeBee's only buddy), Korrah (6months old, sweetheart), and Tootsie (When the playing is good, it's great, but he did bust me with a good bite once on the arm!) BeeBee and BeauBeau are bonded and happy, but they'll turn on playmates. Not sure if this is permanent or if it's just a "prison mentality" from being around so many ferrets at the shelter. Either way, they are very happy and fun. With supervision they were good, only had to save Korrah once. They're a year and a half and for some reason despite being very vocal and playful have not been adopted. They're pretty much at the top of my list. I do LOVE Korrah though. Once my room is set up it will be good for rambunctious kids, plus Korrah is super cute and 6 months old, she'll find a home! Pics: Korrah BeeBee & BeauBeau

Aww how sweet! I hope you get to take them home soon! (and my fingers will be crossed that they're still available by the time you've got everything set up). They're cuties and sound like happy and energetic. Little fuzz butts!

I hope they're still there too! I like them crazy and playful but I would happily take a Korrah and Tootsie instead if I must BeeBee and BeauBeau have been there for awhile, something that astonishes Milli!

I'm so jealous I am still waiting on the planets (aka work schedules) to align so I can go visit TFLR and get Pan some buddies. BeeBee and BeauBeau's pictures didn't do them justice. I hope you get them!

Her markings make her look like an ermine! Why is there a bed in there?

If you have the time to devote to helping them get along(as well as the cash!!!) I'd get the four of them ;D Four is my ideal number, in spite if having 9 at present If not- get the two girls!

All 4 is an option if 2 work out well, my husband is only agreeing to 2 for starters! BeeBee and BeauBeau are a bonded pair that have been at the shelter for awhile so that's why I'm leaning towards them. That and they play super hard I know John wants kiddie pool ferret fun though, so after 2 I bet we could add. Hoping BeeBee is just being mental due to friend over stimulation that shelter environment can lead to. She never knows who she's going to be out playing with so Milli thinks that's the root of her friend issues and that she could adapt with a stable playmate situation. I've got the time if John wants to commit the 3+ "crime" ;D As far as the bed goes, it's just there for the ferrets to play on and give their tubes some structure I think. They like to bounce around on it. The shelter part is an add on to the home, so they have quite a play and living space! The house/shelter is really cool from the outside, it looks like something from a book of fables! Gorgeous garden out front with water features and a bridge, and a big koi pond out back. Almost gives me spring fever, but I got a ferret room to put together!

Thanks Darlene I have the room nearly in order and I'm going to buy the cage soon. We donated to the Red Cross last night after the bombing of the marathon, so without dipping into savings or the (meager as yet!) ferret health fund the cage will have to wait. I'm sad about both the bombing and the ferret delay, but good will come of it and it's comforting to further those ends. In happier news, went to petco for new dog tags and the ferrets were up. My kids were with me and I figured as good a time as any to see if they're allergic, just to be sure. My son was as wiggly as the ferret so no good photo, my daughter pulled it off though! No marks, and no blowing up later so we're good.
