www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/stepney/other-pets/ferrets-desexed-female/1016694535Months and months back when I was thinking about getting a baby ferret instead of another older one, I found a pet shop that was selling a litter of kits. Some of the kits were dark sable, some were white and grey. The grey ones seemed really outgoing and lovely. The sables were sold on the first day they were up for sale. Then one of the greys... But it's been months, and two of the greys, sisters, are still up for sale. They're five months old now, and have spent their entire lives in the pet shop (mother gave birth in the pet shop and was kept with them until they became old enough to sell). I feel so sad for them. Look how adorable they are. And new tiny ferret kits have come after them many times, and they've been chosen over the grey/older ones. Now they're bonded so they need to be sold in a pair so that's even less chance they'll be found a home! It breaks my heart. At least the pet shop got them desexed and stuff and will only sell them as a pair.

Poor little girlies. They are absolutely adorable! I don't know why anyone would choose any one over another. I've never understood it. Honestly, I feel worse for the big ferts at the store and feel like if I adopted any more babies in these situations it would be the older ones. They are so much more appreciative for it. My Gir (DIP) was one of these older ones and he was one of the most loving, sweet fert I've known. I hope these girls find a home. At least they are being adopted out together.

At least the pet shop is now advertising them externally too, so I'm hopeful. I'm also hoping that they're alright emotionally/mentally since they've been in the pet shop their whole life. Who knows how much attention they get. I wish I could foster them or something until they find a home.

Long trips have never bothered any of my crew. My guys flew over from the UK, the road trip surely wouldn't be 12 hrs, would it . Sharing expenses or picking up the tab for gas is a great idea if you both could work it out ciao

Mr. Wheatley was nearly 7 months old when I found him at the pet store and had just been transferred from another store to boot. Poor guy looked so tired of being chewed on by kits. Despite it all though he kept up a good nature, he's a real loving sweetheart. If someone does them a good turn and takes them home, they thank you for it over and over.

Yeah. But I'd put them in a travel cage, not one of the pet carriers, with food, water, hammocks, and I'd walk them on harnesses for exercise. And... I've always meant to drive to WA. I'm serious. If you really want them, I would do it, for petrol money. I'd sleep in the car if I can't find places that will accept ferrets that I can stay at. Then I'd holiday around and drive home.

It's a 28 hour drive to Perth. Is that where you are? Or, maybe there are some backpackers we could trust, who are heading over from Adelaide to Perth who have some ferret experience.

Yeah Perth. But you can't drive at night because of kangaroos and emus. So it ends up taking a few days
I'll have to talk to my landlord this week before I make any sort of plans. And I'll have to source the money, because they're about $200 each, aren't they? Plus money for your petrol and time
