His hind end seems on the thin side. His front looks good but when he's standing you can feel his back hip bones and it freaks me out...not sure if it's normal or if he's thin. The rest of him looks good and when he's sitting he has a little poochbelly.

Haha, he is probably fine as most fuzz appear too skinny in the summer. If anything, the fat from raw should help him put on any weight.

So far *today* he's been through 53g/1.8oz...that's between 7am and 1pm(ish). So apparently he is really diggin on the soup. We're ready for the next step when you are!

Forgot to mention, the soup is...oh I guess medium thick. When I spoon it into a bowl it doesn't quite hold it's shape but it doesn't flow out to the edges like a liquid would. Kind of sits in the center as a blob. Sorry, I am really bad at descriptions.

Aaaaand he's diving facefirst into another bowl. He's eating it faster than I can defrost it....

Wo! That is awesome!!! That consistency sounds good For the next step. So you can do two things: you can make chunkier soup like you had before. Or you can hand cut some chunks and slip them into his current soup. As he seems more texture oriented, the latter might be better because you can control the size and thickness of the chunks. When I introduces chunks, I make them long and skinny. Ferrets tend to chew with one side of their mouth, so skinny pieces seem easier for them to eat (especially in the beginning). Chicken skin is always a favorite and can really help build jaw strength.

I will start doing little slices tomorrow. Should I do slices of liver and heart and meat or just worry about getting the slices in there in the first place?

Just plain meat and some skin would be best we can work up to different textures

Totals for the day...don't judge my fatty. 7a-11a: 24g 12:15-1: 29g 2:45: 10g 6:20: 7g (he ended up with one small chunk and ran down to the litter box he doesn't use and I thought he would spit it out but he ate it!) 10:20: 14g So today's total is 84g or 2.9oz. I might offer him a little more before I head to bed, too. I couldn't believe how much he ate today. He was like that guy who sits at an all you can eat buffet for like four hours until they just kick him out. I'm gonna start with the little meat slivers tomorrow morning, I'll let you know how it goes.

His breakfast this morning was about 1/3 chunks and 2/3 soup and he finished almost all of it off, chunks and all.

He's still doing pretty good with the chunks. If he comes to one that's bigger than he likes he will eat it but then he's done for a while, like he's sulking. ;D His stools from yesterday/this morning were a little smaller than usual and really dark.

His breakfast this morning was about 1/3 chunks and 2/3 soup and he finished almost all of it off, chunks and all. Oh go Remus! That is SO awesome. And that is funny about the sulking, my Pixie will do the same! I woul keep this ratio for several days so he can get used to it. Then we can up the amount of chunks. As for the stools, did you add any extra heart or liver into the soup?
