Has anyone ever used that marshals odor stuff that you put in the water to help with pets odor? either in rabbits or ferrets?? My bf's family is having a really hard time with my animals odor, its mainly my rabbit because he is not neutered and if i dont figure something out my bf's mom said he will have to go which means i would have to move back home lol because im not getting rid of him. SO, I was wondering any tips or advice on odor? If anyone has used that stuff, or anything else, the effects, how it worked... etc.

Any particular reason for not having him neutered? Not overly familiar with rabbits so not sure if there's a reason. As for the odour control stuff can't help as I've never used it.

Normally I do neuter and spay my rabbits but I have a particualr breed that I am going to start breeding... As soon as it is warm enough he is going outside but if I can just control the odor until then...

I used a similar brand with my first rat. Didn't seem to make a difference in his smell. Ended up just doing daily cage cleans.

I am already cleaning his and the ferrets litter box every night and using a kennel odor eliminator on the floor of their cages. And I have air fresheners in the room and an air filter running.

I can't imagine the smell could be that bad, then! Your company must have sensitive noses!
Of course I've never been around a male rabbit,Mao maybe they are just super stinky. ;D

I wouldn't waste my money on it. I've yet to hear from anyone that it works for, so it's just a lot of chemicals that your breeder doesn't need. One of the problems when keeping breed stock is that the males either have "habits" that are less than appealing and or carry a strong odour to attract the opposite sex. It goes with the territory. It requires a lot of extra work to keep the smell down ciao

Probably you're going to have to be stuck cleaning multiple times a day with a good enzymatic cleaner, then. When I first got ferrets, I used that stuff - it didn't do a THING and then there were issues with it messing up the body's pH and potentially causing issues. I didn't want to take a chance, and besides, I learned that I really didn't need it all (with my first pair, I was a learn-as-you-go-and-research person, oops). If it's his personal smell, you might hunt around for a safe spray bath type thing to help?

I tried it and found no difference. Had to go with frequent cleaning and cell-sorb pellets for best results.

Heather, I know having unneutered animals odor comes with the territory, unfortunetaly it was an impromptu situation that forced me to move in with them. I am planning on moving him to a hutch as soon as it is warm enough, I didnt move him before this winter becasue he was still a baby, he is only 8 months lol. It is his urine, not his self that smells. Thanks for all the input on that stuff. Ill just keep doing what Im doing lol and hopefully it helps enough

Look for a non-toxic (to the point where it is safe for accidental consumption) spray with anti-bacterial properties in your local supermarket/grocery store. They often have really nice odours that can help mask smells a little. Avoid any citrus scents as a lot of animals don't like that. Failing that, use vinegar and water to scrub the cage out once a week as well as the daily spot cleaning.
My spray of choice is Vanilla Fridge Wipe. It is a non-toxic and anti-bacterial cleaning spray that is safe to use in food prep areas. It has a very strong natural vanilla scent.
I use it on my animal cages periodically and it can also be sprayed on bedding to get the scent on the animals coat. I was worried that the overpowering smell would be too much on the animals noses but it doesn't appear to bother them at all.

Sleepyferret, make sure you check the ingredients well on that cleaner if it's coming anywhere near the ferrets. A lot of commercial products have essential oils in them to make them smell nice to people, but they are deadly toxic to cats and ferrets as it builds up in their body cumulatively.

I used exactly product from Marshalls. I added a minimum of this one to the water by instructions and my baby had loose stool :-( I gave it away and no more something like that, it was bad experience for me.

It's garbage. I don't know how many ferrets I've had handed in that have come with a bottle of that stuff and a bottle of shampoo ciao
