Sadly there really isn't anything pretty in Orlando. However I visit my parents a lot and they Live in Asheville, NC. It's my home away from home. I spend a couple months out of the year there. This is Chimney Rock. Surrounded by mountains. Very pretty view. One of the many creeks. That was the first time I ever saw snow. Sadly it happened on Christmas day which ment my dad had to go to work and leave. And thats the Biltmore Estate.

kelybely - I know exactly how you feel...I tend not to look at this thread often because it makes me too jealous! Tampa isn't the most beautiful place either... I'm sure that I could get some nice pics of the bay, but that's about it... and let's face it, once you've seen a palm tree or two you've pretty much seen what we consider "foliage"!! Oh, I SO miss living in places with real seasons and leaves changing colors. Couldn't handle lots of snow anymore (too old for that!) but wouldn't mind an inch or two just as a reminder!!! feeling a pity party coming on - better go find something else to dream about!!

I've never seen the changing of the seasons but yeah once you've seen a palm tree or two its all the same. I guess there's some really pretty places in Fl just not Orlando. Unless you consider some theme park shots nice lol.

I like Orlando and Tampa, I think they are pretty in their own way, especially like the Clear Water area on the beach is just awesome. What I don't like about FL is everything so flat, gosh I how I often forget how beautiful the mountains and hills of PA are, until I go on vacay and come back home, I appreciate the scenery more. I am originally from Lake Land, FL and once in a while fly down to visit. A bit too hot for me though! I like our cooler weather, and its nice to have seasons. All these pics are so pretty, love it!

Those are beautiful, Sherry! Also, Bev, that is beautiful. If you did live there you could fit a lot of ferrets inside.

I love Asheville! I worked for 3 summers in western NC -- in the Nantahala Gorge for the Nantahala Outdoor Center (they also have outposts on the French Broad, Pigeon, Nolichucky, Ocoee, Chattooga, and Cheoah Rivers). I was a white water raft guide and also worked in their reservations office. GREAT times and BEAUTIFUL area!!! However, this is where I actually live, and have since we moved here about 16 years ago! This is my house (...read: parents' house, I just live here) Our dog Sadie on top of the snowbank alongside our driveway last winter. We ran out of places to put the snow, waaaaay too much of it... I also happen to live in one of the areas that got hit by Irene. The river in my backyard rose up so high we almost had to leave - and I live on a hill!! This is my backyard mid-Irene. This is the beautiful willow tree in our backyard, pre-Irene. The tree still stands, but the river eroded all of the dirt around the roots. We're trying to re-bury the roots to save the tree. They JUST fixed this road...literally re-opened yesterday. My commute to work has been shortened by 15 minutes again! Yay! This one isn't fixed yet, but is supposed to be re-opened soon...normally I would drive on this road every day. For more Irene pictures, check out this album ( s18.photobucket.com/albums/b135/bloodyangelwings/My%20Home/Tropical%20Storm%20Irene/ ). I hope to find some better ones of VT foliage. This year's was kind of disappointing...something to do with the weather, which has been RIDICULOUS!

Sherry, You're making me homesick! I miss my foothills and snow and thunderstorms! I don't miss Calgary though, I am strictly small town. Here in Victoria BC we get hot and humid or cold and wet. I live in canada and get none of our awesome weather....
