An angora male 1.5 years old was surrendered to the Broward County Ferret Rescue and Referral recently. My vet says that he is very playful and gets along with other ferrets. He is from Carolina Ferrets. It would be great if he can go to a loving home. If anyone is interested in giving him a good home, please contact Dona Michaels at the Broward Ferret Rescue and Referral: fuzzyrescues@aol.com

Neat you don't hear about angora ferrets very often. Too bad he's in the shelter but at least he will prob be adopted very soon. I'm sure Sonny could use a playmate..

We have been looking into becoming an official sanctuary for these little ones. Too bad my husband doesn't go to Florida as the rescue page says they are full.

Do Angoras tend to be more allergenic? My girlfriend is bad with cats but fine with our three marshals babies but allergies could make a "maybe" to a "impossible". I'm going visit the site, bye from Orlando Sent from my Nexus 4 using proboards

I doubt it, my vet explained to me why my allergies with cats and dogs don't happen with ferrets. I guess they have a different protein make up in their skin cells or something, which is why the dandruff doesn't bother me. I assume with all ferrets it's the same or very close to the same, if she's not allergic to MF ferrets she is probably not allergic to an angora or vice versa. Angoras are just ferrets that have been bred to obtain this genetic defect that causes longer hair, or curly hair and the nose deformity.
