So, our Furversary! One year ago today, we brought home Fiddler and Shiloh, our first ever ferrets. One of best things of my life happened that day. I honestly can't think of what life without them would be like. We decided to get ferrets because we were at the pet store and hubby bent down to touch one of the little caged babies, Fiddler. He stuck his finger in the cage through the bars, and the little guy grabbed onto it. I was convinced we needed his cagemate because she looked like she needed love and kisses, and they already looked comfortable together. Unfortunately, I don't have pics from the first day that they were here, because hubby deleted his facebook and forgot to back those pics up. But, the first time we got them out to play was right after they came home. I remember being confused by their sounds, chattering at each other so, running around the room like crazy little things. They looked a lot happier than they had been at that store though-and I was thankful for that. We proceeded to do a ton more research on ferrets after that, buying a few books on the subject, and then joining a forum. Life was so much better with furs! A month or so later, we got Oz and then in August, we got Hiro, our cuddlefluff. Here are some pics to highlight the year. Thank you! I hope they are-we really try to give them the best home possible. I know it's not always easy for them or us, especially here soon when my hubby has to go into the navy, but it will provide them with more than we can give them now, so it's for the best. They truly are our family, friends, and furkids. <3 They've helped both of us through the hardest year of our lives, but it's been the best one because of them.

And many more furversaries to come! People without ferrets just don't understand how much these little brats brighten a bad day. I know I've had days where the only reason I've laughed is because of them. Here's to a long, healthy future for you, hubby and the brats *toasts to you with my Starbucks*

Congratulations! When I was away last weekend, it was my fuzzies that I missed the most! I was around dogs, but they seemed somehow... uncouth. Give me my ferrets, and my cats, and I am happy, so I can totally understand how they've taken your heart!

Thanks, all! They really do weasel into your heart. They really do make our family a true family complete with laughter as well as worry.
Yes, lostdoubloon, it is very hard for me to be away from them also. I was away visiting my parents for a few months last summer in AZ. It was so far away, and I missed them sooo much. I scarecely talked of anything else. I'm glad that my parents will finally get to meet their grandferrets this summer when I bring them with me.
