It's been a while since I've posted. I've been struggling with my personal life, going through moving and divorce. But to cut to the chase and skip the pity party, I've got three sweet fuzzies I know I've posted about here, and I have finally had to face the hard truth that I'm not capable of caring for them anymore. I'm turning to this forum now because I know everyone here deeply cares for their ferrets and their well-being, and I'm only hoping to get them somewhere they can have a better life. I used to work for an animal hospital where they had complete access to health care, I used to make enough money to feed them raw, I used to work part time and have time to play and care for them. At this point I can barely clean up after them. It's heart breaking for me.
But here's what it boils down to:
-I have a Ferret Nation two story cage.
-Mabel is about 6-8 years old, adrenal and possibly has insulinoma. She's been on and off pred, and was last implanted with deslorelin in 2010. I can no longer afford her pred. She's as sweet and dainty as they come, extremely loving and almost ladylike. In her old age she hasn't been good about using the litterbox anymore and I'm not able to devote the time to retraining her. She is an angel about not getting into my stuff, doesn't seem to care for chewy or foam things, cords, or general mischief.
-Midna is about 3 years old, she's more of the explorer type. She likes noisemaker toys and tubes, and is healthy. She LOVES raw food but, again, due to financial hardship I've had to put them all on freeze dried/kibble mix. She still loves when I throw raw in now and then so I don't think changing her back over would be a problem at all.
-Sephiroth is about 4 years old, he's a big chunky lovebug. He is a very active and fun ferret but never trashes my things or gets into my stuff. He loves playing with Midna and being held. He doesn't seem to have an affinity to chewing things up either. He also loves raw.
I am willing to give them for free if someone can pick them up. I also have a big double cat carrier that they can all go in for a trip to the doctor. I just want them to go to someone who will love them as much as I do and be able to give to them like I used to be able to.
I really hope someone on this forum can find it in their hearts to either take them on or knows someone who can. Again, its the cage, them, and the carrier. Water crock, bottles, bowls, even a kit with some meds and nail clippers all can go too. Please help. Private message me and I'll give you my email or phone number. I can post pictures if requested.
Thanks so much for reading.
