I wouldn't be without the stuff. Little knicks and bumps it works really well and as a deterent for over zealous hobantics it works great. ciao

Works so fast its amazing. For Nadia to bring her out of heat only took a week. For Sasha who has a adrenal disease its taken a month for her swelling to go down.

Wow that's amazing. Would you mind sharing how much the implant cost here in Florida? I'd like to give a general idea to those who ask on another forum.

I paid $120 for the implant and $30 for the visit. However, my vet said that that was the last implant from peptech in Australia and that the implant is now 3x more expensive

Silly buggers are going to price themselves out of the market, besides causing untold suffering to ferrets

So, if you're in the US you can no longer order from Peptech in Australia? I'm thinking I'm really glad that I still have to order from them. It's a bit of a hastle but at least I can afford it. ciao

So it's the vets that are taking advantage of this, not the distributor....small consolation I suppose ciao

That is what my vet heard from one of the employees, he hasn't actually checked the pricing on them himself. He is pretty fair on pricing so I'm not worried about that.
From what one of the employees told me, since the US has a distributor, they can't order from the Aus one anymore.

No, they can no longer order from Australia. Unfortunately some vets are going to gouge as much as they possibly can Look at the one mentioned here in Calgary- trying to charge $600!!!

I think up here it's a matter of not wanting to do the paperwork required (it is extensive seemingly) and figuring if they're going to be forced into it then they will be "well" paid for it. It's sad really because it means that particular method of dealing with adrenal is out of most people's pricing, so then the ferret is left to suffer. What happened to the saying "do no harm" ciao

Now it's more "do no harm as long as it doesn't affect my bottom line" That particular vet is known for being the most expensive in a city that has 10 who see ferrets.
