Well, your baby should be getting at least three protein sources Some other proteins you can use are turkey, beef, pork, goose, duck, lamb, goat, etc. He should also be getting heart for taurine, and 5% of the diet should be liver and 5% should be another organ like kidney, lung, spleen. What other proteins does your baby get besides chicken?

I recommend signing up for the mentor program, as they can help you get to a well balanced diet plan with the proper proportions of meat, bone, and organs. And Ditto what Jackie said.

he eats chicken &turkey wings &/or backs&necks, pork&beef chunks and beef liver Ok much better then. lol So you want to get more species of lier, and some more organs. See if you can find Pork and/or other animal spleen and kidney. Liver should be 50% of the organ meat, so you want to get some other organs if you can too. And of the organs you have you want a variety of animals. So like beef, pork, and chicken liver. For other meats, some of these Jackie said but here: Duck, Game Hen, Pheasant, Quail, Goat is awesome, Lamb, Rabbit, rodents (mice, rat guinea pig), goose, etc.

ive wanted to buy kidney before but my husband REFUSES to cut it lol. as for duck and rabbit, i want to get it, but its so expensive! i have very limited choices of meat where i live, because they pretty much only sell what is popular. i'm basicaly lucky to have necks&backs, they dont even always have turkey... at the butcher, the guy gave me a weird look when i asked for mostof the stuff i wanted lol. hence why i am looking for lil recipes to add into his meal plan

Have you tried raw, whole eggs? I give my guys an egg about once a week and they really enjoy them. I just make a small crack and give them the whole thing. Its a good source of enrichment for them to have to get the goodies inside themselves

Do you have a Superstore anywhere near you? Not sure if they have them in the east or not. Or one of the larger Walmarts? They can have some of the different meats there. I get goat, lamb, and quail at Superstore. You can also use cornish hen. Yes, they are a little more costly, but I only use about 1/2 for my nine. They are about 2lbs each here.

Cornish is generally in the freezer section of grocery stores, where they keep turkeys and such.

you could also go to the bait shop and get some minnows or shiners. When ever the boys go fishing, they bring home their leftover minnows and I put them in a large mixing bowl for the dogs and cats and a 9 x 13 pyrex type clear baking dish for the ferrets... they love watching the swim and trying to "fish" them out...10 of my 12 will eat them...

I order my brats freeze dried foods when I feel their grocery store provided frankenprey diet is getting too boring. Every other month or so. They love it and it is so good for them. I LOVE freeze dried poops. You can pick em right up if they poo on the carpet lol.
It doesn't really cost that much if you price compare and look for the best deals.
I love shopping from Casey's Hidden Pantry I can get multiple varieties of protein sources for a great price. I paid $47 plus shipping so about $54
I got a 21 oz bag of AFS Chicken Nibblets then 3 6 oz bags of various Stella and Chewy's Dandy Lamb (just lamb so good if you need a single protein source food) Duck Duck Goose (Duck, Turkey, Goose) Surf and Turf (Beef, salmon, turkey)
That provides them with 7 different protein soruces for under $60 I aways crumble 2- 2 1/2 patties 2x a day. I make sure they always have at least a couple chunks in there I don't want them to be without food ever since I have a 7+ year old, a 3 year old, a 2 about to be 3 year old and a 2 year old.
For some reason mine can't really handle the freeze dried foods rehydrated. Their poops turn funny, I think it forces them to take in too much water then the poos get runny. I always make sure to provide them with plenty fresh water and they will go drink in between bites.
