I'm so sorry! I am sending positive energy your way. You clearly love your animals, and it is so hard to make these types of decisions! As for the move, we are FINALLY settled in. We had a string of technical difficulties throughout the way, but we are all good now! I had to buy a new food processor, as my old one crapped out on me I am planning on making the soup thicker and thicker, which will be easy! I am doing okay right now, information wise! Don't rush too much with your grieving, I am doing fine Whenever you are ready, just post on here and let me know. If I run into any problems, I am sure someone will be around to help me. Hope to talk to you soon, and I wish you the best! -Hugs-

Just posting an update! The thicker soup is turning out really good! Snickers likes the soup a lot more when it is thicker Now it is just Baine I have to convert. He will eat it if I add some ferretone to it, which isn't too bad. Hope you are doing okay!

that is great to hear! ferrets are picky about texture, the brats, so I'm happy they're adapting to the new change so readily! Is Baine eating the thicker soup when you add ferretone, or just the old recipe? And thank you, I'm sure I'll get there

Yea he will eat the thicker soup, so long as its got the FerretCrack on it Which makes me happy! At least he is slightly okay with it still being thicker!

That's progress, definitely! We'll worry about weaning him off the ferretone when he's established on raw as you said earlier, it's just a drop or two, correct? if so, nothing to worry about (if it's a small pool, that'd be different )

Yea, we add a couple drops and he will start there and continue to lick around, which is great for him! Everyone else is really liking the soup still, so I think I may add in some teeny tiny slivers for everyone else to try. I already know Aspen will go for it! I managed to find some freeze dried chicken breast treats at the pet food store the other day! The amazing thing? BAINE LIKES THEM!! Its the FIRST ever meat related treat he has ever eaten on his own!

that's great always make sure the sections are big enough that they can't just try to swallow them, though, they can be a bit hazardous in that regard.

Update! We have progressed away from the 'soup' stage, and into the 'thick puree' stage! Tonights meal was thiick puree, with small slivers added in. They all did really well! I was a little worried at first, because I made it significantly thicker, and then added slivers. But they all really enjoyed it. Except for Baine, because he is still being kind of picky We got him to eat a good amount off of the spoon, with just one drop of Tone on it though. He ate about 3 spoonfuls, with 1 drop each, before he decided he was done. I am hoping he will still go back for a little more later! They are almost all done getting their winter coats, and man are they softer! Snickelfritz is crazy fluffy! Baine is finally starting to fluff up a bit, and he is starting to feel silkier (he always had the roughest coat)

That's great - and for Baine a bit picky, he's also being such a good boy, and at least willing to try things

Ok, so my first attempt didn't go through :C
Hope everything is going well for you and your guys. This is just a heads up - my 10 month old niece is in the hospital for double pneumonia so I'm doing a lot of running around babysitting my other 3 nieces. If I'm a bit late in replying to posts, that's why.

Sorry for being unable to post for so long, we have been going through some issues in our household. Things are slowly starting to settle down again, so we are starting to get back on track. 3 of our 5 have gone to live with their original owners (The 3 'fosters' I was looking after) But I got him all set up with ingredients and instructions for raw diets, and he seems to be doing well so far! I also referred him to this forum, but I am not sure if he will make an account or not. We also added a new addition to the group, her name is Chia and she took to the soupies right away! So now our bunch is down to 3, but may possibly go back up to 5 in a couple months. Yay ferret math! I hope your niece is alright! I'm sending positive energy your way. Life is hard sometimes!

Yep, good ol' ferret math! I'm glad she's taking to it so readily, that's amazing! And that's alright about posting, and I'm so glad things are settling down for you, as well (my niece is recuping nicely, btw, thank god).
I know that last time we talked, you had added slivers. Have they stayed the same? Could you describe them, using [] as size descriptors?
