For those of you that don't know. In October I rushed Jack to my Vet for what I thought was a blockage. He was straining to go to the bathroom and I assumed it was a pooping problem. Turned out his bladder was full of cysteine stones and he went into emergency surgery immediately to remove them. The nature of the stones pointed to a genetic predisposition rather than an infection induced crystallization so we've been monitoring his bladder via xrays for the past 6 months. This was the reason i switched him to raw from kibbles. The raw is keeping his urine dilute which is exactly what he needs to prevent crystals. Today was his 6 month check-up and his xrays are crystal clear. Not a stone to be seen! The vet thinks these 6 months were the most precarious and we can rule he is mostly out of the danger zone so long as he stays eating his raw diet. She's a bit dissapointed he hasn't taken to eating mice, but is overall happy with his diet. He weighed in at 2.5 pounds which is basically where he has been the past two years I've had him. Brady tagged along as moral support and he got weighed in since all the vet techs were shocked by how fat (he's large boned) he is. Brady weighed in at a whopping 3.5 pounds piggy, piggy loves his raw diet
