I agree Bev. Unfortunately, it would cut into the "bottom line"

The shelter that I got Merlyn from wouldn't place pets from the beginning of Dec to the 2nd week after new year. They also wouldn't allow you to take home a pet at Easter or Halloween. You could fill out the application but they would hold your little one. They also had what they called a 48 hr cooling off period. You filled out your application and then came in 48 hrs after to pick up your pet. Yes, there were some who wouldn't bother or didn't want to wait but those were people who would probably dump anyway. ciao

That's the best way to do it.

I have found a pet store in Campbell River that sells ferrets, and they have ordered a female for me. Thankyou so much for all the info. Making a cage out of an old tv entertainment unit so it looks like a piece of furniture with lots of levels, nooks and crannys, also going to add the remote littler box. Will post pictures when done. Once again thankyou so much guys for this wonderful forum. Laura

I know this is a late reply but you can buy ferrets at the Campbell Rive Pet Centre. I've bought two kits from there, they are Marshall's. Hope this helps if you haven't already found a ferret or breeder =)
