Stop bouncing proteins...it won't make it easier, they just get more stubborn . They get the idea that if they don't like something then they can just go on strike stop eating and then you will change the flavour. Can you make your slivers any smaller? One thing you can try is hand feeding a bit, making sure that the soupy and the slivers are well mixed and try feeding them a bit to get them started. To start with those slivers have to be really small. You can also take the slivers and try feeding them like treats and see if they will sample them that way or if you are really stuck you can try the scruff and stuff. It's not as brutal as it sounds. If you gently hold the ferret under your arm, scruff (one of the reason why I never use scruffing as a discipline) and very gently place a piece of meat on their lips, they will start to lick at it. It's a type of reflex It's very gentle. There is a video. I think Mikey put it together to show how it works. Let me know if you need a better explanation or more instructions. Good luck, sometimes it feels worse when they go for everything right from the start and then back off . ciao

Oh, no...I know how horrible that is. Just keep feeding as is. Don't worry about it, they're eating enough and this time might just as well let them get used to eating their food. They might actually start eating their chunky meats...just let them eat. You get better. ciao

Make your chunks bigger and fewer?? See what happens. It does mean that they may take the food out of the dish and stash or eat somewhere else ciao

Fantastic .....that's great . Sounds like he's a bit of a texture fuzz. That's ok because you know this now. He's not sure he want's to eat whole meats because of how it feels in his mouth. You have to think about it....going from dry bricky kibbles to something soft and squishy. Sounds great though...good progress. Now is he only eating the chunks as whole meats away from his soupy? Try a couple of pieces and see if either of them will recognise it without the soupy. Sherry had a couple of fuzzes who felt the whole meats should not touch the soupy Rather like skin kids...the peas do not touch the potatoes ;D ciao

Will they eat their soupy? What if you fed them some soupy and their slivers separate. Perhaps, feeding the slivers before you feed the soupy...thus making sure they're hungry. Using the soupy to top them up after they've eaten some of their little meats ciao

They will not eat slivers with soupy i did catch them eating earlier and the food was rock solid frozen. It was like small diced meat. No soupy.. then to treat the ferrets while i was cleaning the cage my husband gave them raw egg and slipped in the diced pieces and stirred it.. it went faster than any thing they have ate before! Meat and all! Sent from my Motorola Electrify using proboards
