Okay. For Stig, Rascal, Mimeteh, Shiroh, and Bubbles(love that name ;D ) just give them enough in cage and let them at it. It sounds like they're are fine without supervision now. For Snickerdoodle and Miki, hold them on your lap without the scruff, and just don't let them run off. Try the same with Stewie. For Fungo and Archer keep working them to the dish.

One thing I found that helped a couple of mine transition from spoon to dish was to sit with them on the floor while feeding. Dish and ferret on floor, your hand on their back to prevent sudden escapes, and keep moving them toward the dish with the spoon until it's laying there, and then just move it aside as they are licking at it. Same process as on your lap, but it seems to give some a bit more independence.

I hate to report that Archer passed away yesterday. I just found him this morning. I just thought that he had found a good hiding spot yesterday & I basically was waiting for him to come out. Since I hadn't heard or seen any signs I basically turned my house upside down looking for him. I found him in my dresser already passed. I let Stig say good bye since they were cage mates. This absolutely breaks my heart. He had only been with us for a little over a month.

Oh no- I am so very, very sorry DIP little one If you have some rescue remedy, start using it for Stig especially. Rub a drop on his nose, ear flap, or paw pad when he's anxious, and put 4 drops in his water for a couple of weeks. You can use it for yourself as well.

Stig is actually handling it pretty well. I let him out while the other 8 were out to hopefully encourage him not to be such a bully with the others. He's done pretty good today, but I definitely need to get him to the point of where he can be in the big cage & snuggle with the others.

He's likely going to need a buddy. However- I've got two singles simply because they decided they wanted no more friends after their's passed.

He was a bully prior to Archer's death & I've had one that she was always a single ferret & had no desire to gain any buddies. I really think he would be a great play buddy for the big group because he has so much energy. I'll keep an eye on him though.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I was literally on the merge of a mental breakdown since losing Archer as a lot of things were snowballing & making life a little crazy. I'm still working with Doodle, Miki & Stewie. The others are doing pretty well.

:-( I actually had a class mate that I told what happened on Tuesday. I had seen her well before the class we have together & she saw that I was a mess & asked what was up. I told her that I was on the merge of a break down & just wanted to go home. I told her about Archer & she told me "no one understands the pain a fuzzy parent goes through caused by a death more than another fuzzy parent." She doesn't have ferrets, but she loves her pets just as much as I do. She even gave me a card today expressing sympathies. It was very sweet of her.
Now that I got my poo together I should be able to be more frequent. I wanted to make sure that you didn't think I was giving up. Thanks for understanding.

We made some GREAT progress tonight!!!! Bubbles, Shiro, Mimiteh, Rascal, & Stig all took the BARF straight from the bowl. Fungo wanted to take it only from the spoon. Miki took a good portion from the spoon. Snickerdoodle first had to be held securely while taking it from the spoon, & then I put her down on my lap with the bowl & she continued to take it from the spoon. Stewie, made me cry tonight. He took it from the spoon with no problem & then started to CHOW DOWN on the stuff in the bowl!!!! I was so proud of my Stewie!!!
Btw, I received a "sample" (more like a full size bottle) of powdered liver to try out from BARF. They contacted me via a form email asking if everything was okay since I had not put in an order recently. I emailed the lady back & told her that I use BARF for my ferrets. She then offered me the sample. I said yes, since I'm not gonna pass up a free protein powder. It has no fillers & is only chicken, duck, lamb & beef liver. It's Etta Says brand that they sell on their online store & they are thinking about adding it to their store. I've sprinkled some on their kibble, the bar mixture & the soupie.
Overall, a pretty good night. We're making head way with Snickerdoodle, & Stewie made me swell with pride. Very proud of my gang!

They are doing wonderfully well! Once they are all taking it, we'll get you graduated, unless you decide you'd like to do RMB'S.

I think my next question is how much of a BARF patty do I feed them? Or how much weight wise do I feed them?
