Post just got deleted. Lets try this again. So up until a few mintues ago Mischief has been acting normal. He is a Waardy though, so n ormal for him. He has been eating his raw soupie very well, but hasn't gained any winter weight yet, though 2 of my others have. But we have only had him a few months and don't know if his cycles are off. So a few mintues ago he tried to get up but couldn't. So he jsut lazed around and alligator rolled a lot. He was able to get up and go potty, but then took a few steps and plopped on his side. He can't seem to use either set of his legs, front or back, very well. He is however alert and aware and doesn't seem to be in any pain. We haven't done a BG as we haven't suspected him of being insulinmic, but he also doesn't fit the description. He isn't acting all out-of-it right now like I've seen insulinomic ferts do. Though my BF said that this morning he simply didn't want to wake up and was being very lazy, but did come out of the cage and into the carrier on his own (be he didn't seem him do it so he doesn't know if he rolled out or walked out). What could this be? I have an emergency vet appointment in an hour set up with my vet, but I don't know what is going on.

There are several things that can cause this-please let us know what happens at the vet. Good luck, fingers crossed it is nothing too serious!

So i'm at the vet waiting on them to get done with his xrays and blood tests. Right Niue there are several possibilities but we won't really know much until all the test results come back tomorrow. I think the vet is going to send us home with some pain beds and rest until then. Something is definitely wrong and some scary things were mentioned. Even distemper, though my very doesn't think this is the problem since he's had his shots. I had no idea distemper could present like this.

I'd be very surprised if that was it.

I will light a healing candle for your wee boy. I never like this type of presentation. I wish you luck and hope that it's something simple that can be fixed with medication or time. ciao

Does your vet have a CT-scan to see if their is a tumor on or near his spine? Sometimes the symptoms can present as delocalized pain, loss of appetite, weight loss, vomiting, fever...

How does his face, especially around the nose/eyes look? Are his gums a normal pink color?
