My family dog died Monday but he would have been 90 so that gives me so much peace of mind. I switched my 4 cats to raw after reading this forum for a couple of months. I hope they die of old age like yours did heather. I couldn't stand another cat passing before its 3 due to poor diet & disease. I'm on the hunt for a raw friendly ferret vet in my area because I hate nothing more than having to defend the raw diet to people. I don't ever want to feel the need to hide things from the vet because I don't want to be judged.

I had a large dog live to 17 1/2 I would have liked to see what that equaled. I had a horse live to 36 I have heard with horses it is 3 to 1 so he would have been 108 by that estimate.

Suitcase was a warehouse cat, in a company that we bought. She lived in the warehouse and ate mice and such. The guys would give her a can of food, in the morning(on work days, so it wasn't every day). When we bought the company, she was 16. We took her home with us and she lived two more years.

My kitty, Little Baby, was born in my garage on September 29th, 2000. She will be turning 13 this year and you can't tell that she's a day over 10. She is energetic and healthy. Some of those vets are so closed minded. Little Baby was the healthy one of the two in the litter. her brother died of feline leukemia years ago now.

I've got 3 kitties right now who are all 16 yrs old. Arthritis seems to be the biggest issue, though I think Beauregard is starting into renal failure. It was years of being so overweight and eating kibble that probably did it. He's doing well enough though. The oldest kitty I've had was 22 when he was gently assisted to the bridge. He had been diagnosed with renal failure at 11 yrs. He was switched to raw at that time. Prior to that I'd not been able to get a cat passed 13 (they were kibble kitties) ciao
