[/IMG] ciao
Same! I know when we had 5 ferrets we were spending close to 2k per year. WITHOUT extra vet bills (we estimate 2 check ups a year, including antibiotics as this seems to be our pattern)! This year our ferret costs will have an extra 1100 alone due to Bonkers' bills (minus 200 thanks to you wonderful folks) and Booth's bills and cremation. Booth's cremation was $160...plus the $30 for euthanasia. All of the tests we ran and his meds ended up around $700. Anyways, I had to do so much math for this survey. We buy bulk on their food and buy 4 different foods to mix. So I had to figure out how often we buy it (usually every 3 months). As for treats, we rarely give ours treats. I think I spend around $10 a year on treats. Litter we also buy in bulk so it is around $45-50 every 6 months. And bedding isn't that often. Maybe once a year we buy them a whole new set. And I made their recent one by myself. Overall, in general, we spend about $200/ferret without extra vet bills. I'm glad to see we are on the lower side Though it does make me want to go spend more on them now

I probably average about $50 a mo for my three girlies. This is obviously excluding vet bills. I've been lucky so far and my girls have been relatively healthy. I think I've spent a total of maybe $2000 on vet bills since I got ferrets (and about to spend another $500 this weekend), which was nearly 4 years ago.

We missed the poll but we spend no more than $75 (overestimate) in food (100% raw), $5 (horse bedding) in litter and $10 in puppy pads each month (outside the cage). Averages to $30/per baby per month. Our vet bills so far have been minimal compared to most.
Our ferrets don't cost anymore money than most of my friends dogs but we spend 500% more time with them. This would be the highest "cost" of our bears.
