I am so sorry to read this. Zeus is calling her home. I hate these times,,,,even when it is right it is terribly hard.

I am so sorry to hear that Athena has no fight left. You and Cliff are in my thoughts. At least she will have a happy reunion with her beloved Zeus. Athena is a beautiful wilful girl who has lived a full life and she will be missed, even by those who have never actually met her. Ferrety kisses to you all from my guys as you say goodbye to your great dame.

I am SO sorry This is just such a horrible year for us ferret owners. At least you will be able to be there when she goes and you can do her bucket list (even if only for a few hours before!). Athena  |

Athena fought. She wanted out, and is cuddling in my arms now. Don't know how long this will last, but I won't pre-empt her fight, not while she's still got spunk and will, however temporary, to live.

I am so sorry to hear about little Athena and her problems and depression. It hurts every time to hear her story. But as it seems she still has a little love and desire left in her for this world and her loved ones in it! I hope all works out well for you, Sherry, and little Athena no matter the end result! Fingers and paws crossed here that she will maintain the fight |

Well, last night she decided to eat a bit of chicken breast minced up on her own. Had a bite or two overnight, and was waiting to get out of her cage this morning.
Now, she IS having pain. Squinty eyes, a bit of trembling now and then. So we are going to see the vet about some pain meds instead. How long this rally will last we don't know. Could be a couple of days, could be a couple of weeks. But she no longer acts like she's ready and wanting to leave just yet. We're going to play it a day at a time right now.

Man, that sucks....I KNOW how bad the roller coaster ride is.....I have two left now, both old with issues...neither ere ready to give up, but either could go any time.....very stressful - I understand the struggle....very painful for all.

Athena has a strength candle lit. May she find in her the will to do that what she must. Be it to grasp another day of life or to walk through the veil to the bridge.

I think maybe she knows that as much as she misses Zeus and wants to go to him right now, that you would miss her even more & need her to help heal your hearts just a bit more before she goes. Keep fighting, you beautiful, fuzzy girl.
