Acodlin - the backing up looks similar to when she needs to go, but it almost seemed more playful. She would sort of sway back and forth and she wasn't lifting her tail or looked like she was attempting to push. She would just back up real fast like when you chase after them up (just a bit slower and in the cage). Maybe that is all? Maybe she was just wanting to play? She has been cooped up for 48 hours afterall. Anyways, the actual price of the visit was $390 But a good portion was for blood work. She ate a nice amount when we got home and had a bowel movement right before I got her at the vet, then about an hour later at home when I got the back-up cage done. As I said, that was a little small. Not tiny, but small. She has now been sleeping for a little while, but didn't give in without a fight! Little butt was chewing and pulling on the wires for a good 15-20 minutes ;D Also has more strength to pull out of my hands when holding her and was able to push my fingers away when trying to touch her tummy (not because it hurts, she was just trying to get down).

Could they have simply missed it in her stools? As for the backing up- Lucrezia will "fake" going when she wants attention ;D Gave us metamucil(sp) to sprinkle on her food once a day to help keep things moving. Be very, VERY careful with this! It absorbs lots of liquid in the stomach/intestines and can cause a lot of problems in and of itself. Maybe rehydrate it BEFORE giving it to her? It takes about 15-30 minutes to rehydrate. Better yet- use pumpkin!

Well, I only give her a tiny pinch and they used it today at the vet on her food, and she has gone twice since being home (second one was larger than the first ). So I gave it to her tonight and saw her eat and drink! So if she hasn't gone again by time morning comes, I'm going to call the vet to ask about the metamucil. Their idea is now that they have her hydrated, they hope she will be feeling better enough to continue to stay hydrated and eat, and the metamucil will thicken the stools a bit and push the object out. Nice theory. But we shall see. Thanks for the warning. And I do believe she is backing up in a very pathetic attempt to get out. She did it again when we put her up, but didn't even look like she was trying to do anything other than dance ;D

Lucrezia will quite literally back up in the middle of the floor, lift her tail, and stand there looking at you and waiting for you to plop her butt onto the potty paper ;D

Hey guys, Bonkers is still doing well. Her stools are a bit smaller than when I first brought her home, but not tiny or real skinny. She seems to be eating and drinking well. She has been energetic, etc. Also, we are now $27 away from being halfway to the goal! Keep spreading this please. $27 more and I'm not sure what I will do. Maybe dance around the apartment like a mad woman. Anyways, just updating.

Just paying it forward as much as I can! I never could have gotten though Koda and Kenai's surgeries without everyone's generosity. I know first hand just how much every dollar counts. These rotten little buggers sure like to give us gray hair, that's for sure!!!!
