Hi, I was wondering if someone could make me a pattern. I have measurements but i'm not very good a drawing. I would like to make my own pattern to make a ferret hoodie or shirt for winter. winter in my area can get very cold. Thank You,

This will be tough without the measurements of your ACTUAL ferret...they can vary quite a bit in size.

You could make the cage bedding if you're itching to sew There are lots of patterns on how to do that on this forum.

Ferrets can vary sooo much in size and the breeder fuzzes even more. Between my farm ferrets (a wee girlie weighing less than a pound) to Minion who weighs over 5 lbs during his winter season. My breeder fuzzes who vary not only in weight but in lengths too. By the way despite the 'binos being the smaller in weight, they can't fit the premade Marshals clothing because they're so long. ciao

i was going to try and just make a general pattern so in the future i could make the clothing but i am no good at drawing. someone in another forum posted pics and dimensions of a ferret shirt they had but that didn't help with drawing a pattern lol.

So you have dimensions of what you need? Is it one piece, different pieces? ciao

Could you post their link here? Might be easier. Or even post on that forum and try to ask the person who gave the measurements in the first place...or both. I've never been good at not following a pattern OR drawing one either unless it's something like a pillow lol.

I think it would be two pieces. a longer piece for the back and a shorter piece for the bottom. i have the longer piece being 10 inches the neck being 3 inches, the opening for the back being 4 inches and the bottom piece would be 7 inches. i made the dimensions being alittle bit bigger and longer than the dimensions the person gave for there marshal ferret shirt. I'm not sure how to add the leg holes on it. this is only to have a rough draft for when i get a pair of ferrets in the future. i've seen dog clothing patterns but not sure how to modify the pattern.

It's not difficult if you've got graph paper. ciao

Heather. i can try and make you one. if you have the size of the ferret. it might take a few try's but practice makes perfect. it took forever for them to except me into the forum. i think it took like 2 weeks.

Could always try making the jacket adjustable somehow so it'll fit from the wee jill to the beefy hob? Maybe a draw string or something? <-Doesn't sew worth crap

i might try and get a dog pattern and just downsize it. @yurei Avalon that's a good idea trying to make an adjustable jacket. I found a pattern for an xsmall dog shirt.

I cheated on some clothes for Loki. I bought the cheapie dog clothes in the smallest size, and then pinched them in the chest area and sewed them up. I did the same thing with the sleeves. Now they fit perfect but he still hates them lol! I can post pics if it will help you.
