Murder seems to be less intent on tearing the newer hobs to bits lately. He seems to have stopped hunting and looking for them. Last night I let all 9 ferrets have access to all 4 cages and the playroom. There was no fighting, we spent the night unmonitored and Matthew came down this morning to find Murder using Sigma as a pillow. 20 minutes later I ran down to break up a fight as I heard some wailing. Murder & Zar'thun seemed to be picking on him.
Soon as I came into the room they stopped and lost interest though. They didn't damage his skin nearly as badly as they have been, he didn't poop in terror. I carried him off to go play upstairs to be safe though. But everyone has access to everyone else right now, if they choose to go find them. With 4 three level FN's and a playroom they seem to be pretty relaxed though. Murder also pretty much ignores Stormy now and barely bothers Wheatley either.
I think another few weeks and we may all be able to live together again.
Letting Murder run around downstairs and free roam for a short while lately seems like maybe it's helping him, not sure. He's definitely in a better mood though lately. He's really slimmed down between the raw and his baby weight loss, probably closer to 3 lbs instead of 4 and less fat. Hopefully he starts toning it into muscle again soon with more access to tunnel running. He's also got more energy all the time- he's constantly bolting for the door to the room when I enter or leave it and forcing me to chase him around the house to put him back in the playroom. He of course thinks it's great fun.
