Hi guys,
I'll be moving into a rented house soon and I want the ferrets to have their own room but I'm worried about them ruining the carpet/laminate that's already there.
I've thought about getting some cheap lino and just covering it but can't think of a way to secure it without sticking it down and to stop the ferrets from getting under it.
Has anyone here ever done something like this and do you have any pictures?

I can't help you but I believe some have used cheap carpet and such to go over top. I agree about the laminate. I have it in the ferret room....it's garbage for ferrets ciao

If the room is laminated or hardwood (like mine). I got the largest office chair protector plastic pads I could find. Put those in the corners under the litter boxes and it has worked out well. For the occasional accident off the pads a quick wipe and descent usually prevents repeats.

You could use moulding to hold it in place ? use drywall screws to secure to floor or wall and you will have only a small hole to fix.

Lay down cheap vinyl sheet goods over the carpet. Get some cheap (as cheap as it gets) MDF moulding. Use finish nails to fasten the moulding to the existing stuff. Sheetrock screws will make too big a hole. The finish nails will leave a much smaller hole to fill. Run a bead of caulk along the bottom of the moulding before you set it in place and nail it to seal it to the vinyl so the pee and other liquids won't run under it.

I second what bitbyter said about plastic chair protector mats. That's what I've done on my hardwood floors and it works really well.
