someone told me that the product skin so soft made by Avon the one that comes in the spray bottle its like for after shower moisturizing anyways they said its good to use on ferrets for flea repellent and also itch relief from flea bites is this actually safe to use have any of you tried it the reason i ask is i have two ferrets that are insanely sensitive skinned ferret shampoos kitty shampoos of all kinds really irritate their skin but not my other ferret he as the fluffiest softest fur ive ever seen

If it has essential oils, it's not safe for either cats OR ferrets. They are incapable of excreting the toxins from their bodies and it builds up over a period of a few years.

Please don't use Avon products on your ferrets.....SSS was touted years ago as a mosquito repellent too. The chemicals are harsh and anything that you can smell coming toward you from half a block away shouldn't be put on your ferret (they were using EO's years ago, don't know if they still do or not but they're very harsh on pets). ciao

I thought that sounded odd to be using on animals especially as oily as it makes human skin

SSS was the only thing my parents could find to keep the flies off of our outside dogs. That was when I was a child. (I don't believe in outside dogs.) Peopel use it on horses all the time. However, ferret anatomy is very different.

Have worked with show horses for years and have used skin so soft mixed with water and or vinegar as fly spray lots! Granted ferrets are not horses...but there are some 'big baby' horses out there that are allergic to life and are OK with SSS.

If the SSS has EO's in it, it will make your ferrets very sick eventually. Ferrets like cats cannot process this type of product ciao
