Haha, well as funny as it is, I think I'll refrain from sqeaking the toy for no reason, since it seems to distress them. However, it is sure a handy way to find Fiona! During playtime, when all 5 ferrets settle in for a nap, they usually do so in the cage, but little Fiona is different, she always prefers to nap deep inside some tunnel or in a maze of boxes ;D So when I'm rounding everyone up, I can squeak the toy a few times and she comes to investigate Five ferrets? Getting back on the forum after a long absence, I'm finding I missed a lot of news! Did you get new additions or are you ferret-sitting for someone? /nosiness

His kong does really well, and I watch the other toys closely. Some of them only last a day--but he likes it so I keep bringing them home.
On a side note: not all squeakies sound the same, so I'm not sure how they can be the exact pitch/tone of anything. Alfie seems to prefer the lower-medium pitched ones to the high pitched.

I had been told the same thing that it emulated a distressed rabbit.
and not all distressed rabbits would sound identical

Squeaky toys elicit a definite reaction from my Hocus, and it's not a protective one... I think I've said it here before, but I swear his eyes flash red, and he won't stop until the offending squeak is well and truly murdered. He's ripped the chirping voicebox out of a stuffed cat toy and he'll go right through your hand to do it. He's always been my... special boy.

My three go INSANE when they hear a squeaky toy, it literally has them bouncing off the walls It's so funny to watch! Lydia
