Get your vet to take skin scrapings as well.

while this may be unlikely, I would not completely dismiss the possibility that these things on Goomba's face could be ticks???? Ticks can cause a LOT of problems skin issues such as swelling, allergic reactions, even neurological issues.
Ticks can be brought into the house by other pets - and they can "hitch a ride" on shoes, etc.
You did not mention that these "skin tags" bled when clipped...usually skin growths will bleed unless they are warts/calloused.
Here is a picture of a ferret that is infested with ticks - you have to scroll down a bit to see it. notice the black spots on the skin as well.

Most tick pictures I've seen, the ticks look white(ish) From what kpaz has mentioned, these growths are black?

OMG what if it was a tick I probably shouldn't have just clipped them off then, should I?? They were whitish, but where it met the skin was black.

Ticks come in different shapes, sizes, colors, etc. The have different stages of development as well, (nymphs vs. adults, etc.)
I would recommend making a trip to the vet - if these are ticks, the vet can remove them safely....if they are not ticks, the vet can do a scraping try to determine what might e going on.
If these are ticks...... Ticks that do not get fully removed commonly result in infection. It's unlikely that these "ticks" (if that's what they really are) are alive of you clipped them off. But, if they are (or if you find more), I do not recommend using vaseline , nail polish, etc. to try to get the tick to back out. The problem with these approaches is that the tick will usually regurgitate before it backs out, - this can introduce a lot of bacteria and/or allergens.
You may want to check all your animals.
