I went out of my way to go to a new store today trying to find some playmates for Stormageddon since he has to live separately. I wanted to have him start his own group. The Petco I went to had a tank with 4 ferrets in it. One was an unusual male silver who didn't seem very interested in me, another was a large, beautiful jill- sable possibly cinnamon, she had very reddish brown guard hairs. She had absolutely NO interest in me though, and even went so far as to chomp down on my arm pretty hard. I got the point and put her back in the tank.
The first ferret I picked up was an adorable little dark sable male, not as dark as my Zar'thun and with only a tiny dot of white on his chest instead of a bib. He may even be considered a normal sable point? Not sure. Very sweet face. I picked him up, waking him from a nap. He looked up at me, clung to my chest, crawled all over me and sniffed my neck and nuzzles it. Seemed to me that he really wanted to go home with me.
The last ferret in the tank was unexpected- he was huge! He's about 3 lbs, his paperwork says he's about 6.5 months old. I checked his teeth and that seems about right. His ears are dirty, he has talons for nails, his fur is very yellow. He was transferred from another store somewhere recently in an attempt to sell him faster I guess.
He's a beautiful marked white, burgundy eyes with silver guard hairs all over his back and part of his tail, he sort of has the dorsal stripe thing going on. He was very friendly with me and he seemed so hopeful. I asked him, "What do you think? You deserve a chance at a good home too dontcha?"
He seems to think so, I don't know how exactly, but he seems like he wants to be here. This is my Wheatley. I am pretty sure he is deaf as a doorknob already and he bites hard when he plays (but he handles fine for petting.) He strongly reminds me of Chell and I suspect they may be Waardy's together in arms. He plays a lot more than the 8 week baby, very bouncy and vibrant this giant boy is. He's kind of a panda with the way the gray marks him. But he's a real sweetheart and I suspect he is going to be a diamond in the rough that too many people passed over for some reason.
Oh yes, and they do seem fine with Stormageddon. Played with them a bit, no one is beating on anyone or anything.
And now, pics! The little dark sable guy hasn't mentioned a name he'd like yet.
