Right now, your best bet is to turn them over to one of the local shelters. At least then you can be assured of these wee mites being taken good care of.

I think calling FRES might be your best bet. Looks like no one is coming through from my contacts. I'm sorry. I hope that they have a safe journey, wherever they end up. i hope that they end up in the hands of a person who will love and care for them until they leave this world. i hope they also get to stay together. It is always good when they have a friend with them- something familiar that makes them feel like home. Wherever "home" may be.

I would offer to take them into my rescue and take the time to rehome them myself as I feed my personal Ferrets raw but I am down in Poughkeepsie NY...

Is there alot of red tape with getting ferrets from canada to u.s.? Someone else here also offered to meet her somewhere. that would be awesome if someone here could take them! there is a secret group on facebook that helps with transport. I will get the link. Private group for obvious reasons.

Bad timing too bc my friend lives right near her and JUST took in two ferrets like 2 weeks ago! Ugh. If not he would have taken them and he feeds raw! So frustrating. i am still posting on the facebook groups but there are hardly any canadians in the groups.

Talk to Heather about shipping. From what I understand as long as rabies and vet check is UTD, it's not a big problem.

Moving animals back and forth across the border is simple. You need an UTD rabies and a vet health check. That's it. Otherwise, you can move cats, dogs and ferrets across the US/Canada border without issue. You don't even have to apply for passports (at least not yet anyway) ciao

here is link to FB group that helps with transport. it is not a public group for safety reasons so you have to send a request to join www.facebook.com/#!/groups/202800856499463/

the link does not work. i am able to travel quite a while, but if i need to cross the boarder, and my ferrets do need to be up to date on shots, i am unable to afford their shots, plus after not having them for so long, is it even safe to do so?

Rabies shot and vet check need to be UTD.

Is there anyway you could raise some money? The vaccines themselves are not usually horrible expensive. Could you maybe explain to your vet the situation and that they need to be utd because you are trying to get them to a new home and maybe they would work with you a little bit?
