the term point is associated with both the legs and mask i would say hes a normal sable with some point coloring patterns in the body.

Looks like a point like Rolo! Does he have a zipper on his tummy and V shaped mask too? (looks like it could be a V, but can't really tell from the side)
Also when Rolo was a baby he was much darker in colour, even his summer coats don't get that dark.
Just for fun! You can see the colour difference on him really well here. Even the dark guard hairs on his back are not as dark as his legs. This thing came in a set from Ikea, it was meant for a diaper changing station - I use the other pieces as a ferret proof garbage, and a tray to attach to his cage to hold his litter scooper and stuff.

IMO almost all sables have a zipper Stiv is a sable point, he has all the pieces of a point and a few extras to(toe tips and white chest lock) note the zipper, pointed mask, and well. Siamese body So he does have a Siamese body

Siamese body Omg I didn't realize the white chest was a point thing, I just thought it was adorable He didn't really have a white bib as a baby though, but its become very prominent. Oh also about the zipper, I think it's considered a "point" thing because they generally have white tummies so its super visible. My sister started calling him "mr. Pants" because it looks like he has little dark pants on >.<

The white chest isn't a point thing, it's just Stiv being his adorable quirky self. even in the things he can't control ;D

Actually Bib and milk toes or mitts are not part of the point pattern, and I think she was trying to say that Stiv has those markings IN ADDITION to the point pattern See the quote from the AFA standard above? No mention of mitts or bibs or blazes, those are considered their own separate type of marking as they can occur in addition to the base pattern.

I was wondering why I'd never heard of the bib before as an official point marking, but even if they would be considered "defects" if they were being judged for conformation they sure are adorable

I don't see anything in the standard that would suggest that those markings would be considered defects in the point pattern, but I've never judged for AFA shows I know there are people here who have judged for shows, AFA or otherwise, maybe they could comment.

Actually that's true I don't actually know either - it might be "undesired" but not actually a fault. There are no ferret shows in Canada so I have very limited info.
