I usually thaw out a about 4 - 5 meatcubes at a time, which is enough for about 2 feedings. Since I'm home I switch it out pretty regularly, about every 4-5 hours, so we go through quite a few meatcubes per day I'm used to them having kibble out constantly so I'm always afraid I am holding food back if they don't have it out constantly :\ They'll always eat it if I show it to them, which doesn't do much but reinforce the idea that they might not be getting enough food :\ But I found if I refresh it any more frequently I just toss a LOT of it... Am keeping a VERY close eye on them. They are all eating normally, and I only noticed the discharge on Soxx once or twice. What other signs should I look for? Nobody is sneezing more than normal either.

(1 meatcube is approximately equal to 1 tbsp or a little less)

If you think you can use about 1/4 cup of thawed food within about 24 hrs....(3 of my sickies can clear up to 1/2 cup in a sitting) you can add 1/4 tsp of powdered egg shell to that mix ciao

Just mixed the 1/4 cup thawed to the 1/4 powdered egg shell...used just about all of it in the ferts' soupies, fed the rest to the cat. She thought it was pretty great She's always around begging for handouts when I mix up soupies anyway! Too bad mom won't let me switch her to raw

I take that back about his appetite. Maybe it's because I mixed powdered eggshell into soupies today for the first time (didn't phase the other two at all) but he barely touched his soupies this morning...
What should I do?? I have to go see my therapist, I should be back around 4:45/5:00...

I would spoon feed him some soupy and see what happens. Is he lethargic? coughing? sneezing? or just a runny nose? what are his stools like? ciao

Well he ate his suppertime soupies like normal! I heated them up just a smidge. Maybe he just wasnt hungry. He sleeps a lot normally so it's hard to say if he's lethargic...I haven't seen him out kickin butt so maybe a bit lethargic. No coughing, occasional sneezing (not nearly as much as when I first got him!). I haven't seen anymore discharge from his nose but he seems to be licking it more frequently... Poops are runny but I omitted the powdered eggshell from suppertime soupies to see if he'd eat it. And I was cooking my supper at the same time and forgot the pumpkin but they'll have a bit of pumpkin in their next feeding.

Hard to say...just keep an eye on him. If you're concerned take him in but by observation you can probably tell if he's off ciao

"Second Supper" and "thirdsies" (is that how the hobbits put it...anyway...dork moment...) are going down VERY well (seconds had pumpkin in it, this current dish ("thirdsies"...ahaha...I crack myself up) does not because i couldn't remember how frequently to mix it in . I'll see how he seems at breakfast. (...later on:) ...so they licked the bowls clean. i went and made more, as marley was standing directly behind soxx while soxx finished eating like..."MOVE I want yours!" i made a little extra so they would have some later and they ate about as much as another entire helping. lil piggos ...maybe i should ahve left out the S&C awhile ago

Once they take to it they will just go with it. Have you tried the egg shells again? I would try it again soon. Not because I want them to slow down but because I want that binding agent in there to slow down their loose stools. I also want your wee boy to learn about different consistencies too. ciao

The kids ate like pigs this morning & last night! I've been adding the eggshell & a tiny bit of pumpkin & it has been going over very well. They mostly like to eat/drink the soupy part of it and once they've lapped up all the liquid they lose interest Anything I should do about that? Poops have firmed up & decreased in number (they certainly pee a lot though!) I don't know if they're bored or what, but they all seem to be sleeping more than before :\ Soxx seems to be a lot less itchy since switching his diet! He still scratches more than the other two but hardly ever wakes up from a sound sleep to come skidding out, scratching furiously like he used it. When I first got him he used to crash out of his hammock scratching furiously.
