4. Interactive toys you put treats/kibble in that are supposed to challenge your pet...great idea! Also, as odd as this sounds, he has a bird foraging hanging toy. It's like a hanging toy with clear drawers that I put treats or small toys in. Could you take a picture of it or if you have a link to it I would appreciate it, this sounds like a very good idea as a cage entertainer

jbial002: Here is the link! www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=5059+16566+19285&pcatid=19285The only thing that you have to keep in mind with this foraging toy is that it can be difficult for the ferret to get their head into each drawer, so what I do is use N-Bone ferret treats and cut them so they're as long as possible but will still allow the drawer to close. Here's the link to these treats: www.ferret.com/item/n-bone-ferret-chew-treats/650816/Also, if you do use these treats, I would consider only using them when you're home and can check in on your ferret while using this toy in the cage. Here's why: just this past weekend, I gave my ferret one of these treats because they're his favorite and I put them in his travel carrier when we're traveling somewhere. Just as we were leaving, I heard him start coughing, realized he was choking, took him out of the carrier, ran inside and was trying to get him to drink water, and I was patting his back trying to help him cough it up. After about a minute, a piece of this treat about an inch long shot out of his mouth. I was hysterical. This hasn't happened before and he has always been good about chewing small pieces off, so I'm assuming he accidentally bit off too much and it went down unintentionally. From now on, I'll be sure to cut the treat down into smaller pieces before giving it to him. With that said, this is a great toy for in the cage to keep them busy, but just be aware that it's smart to still be home so you're able to check on your ferret. And make sure your ferret is good about chewing his food usually

Sherry: Absolutely! He's not allowed to have them in his cage when I'm gone. He likes to put them in his cage when he's running around in his playroom going through his bins of toys But, they're always taken out before I put him in his cage.

My ferrets love homemade toys more than store bought toys. Nothing more entertaining to them than a cardboard box! Today I gave them old wrapping paper and they went insane.
