This is great! After years of multiples to keep each other entertained, (not that I didn't join in obviously!!) one of my fosters is now solo and I can't incorporate her into my group because she is super aggressive with any ferret that wasn't her sister. I find I'm twice as drained after playing with her than I am with my five!!

Can't blame you ;D Some do very well as only ferrets(provided you can keep them entertained), others really do seem to need the company.

I dunno I love the bond I have with Rolo - he is pretty good at getting my attention when he's bored and wants to play, and he's snuggly when he wants to be, and he's usually a foot warmer if I'm at the computer, he follows me around a lot even if he's just puttering he'll follow and flop nearby.
Plus he's picking up clicker training pretty quick! Which is really very fun to do on both sides. It gets him thinking about what he needs to do to hear the "click" and get a treat, and I think it's just about the most adorable thing in the world.

I think ferrets (usually) work best in pairs or more. Intact ferrets can be a different story, so mainly referring to farm fuzzies. I found it helped SO much for Pixie to get her Trixie. She is just much happier having a fuzzy buddy to sleep with. I think that ferrets can be kept alone and I know some people do it very successfully (Sonny comes to mind here, what a spoiled fuzz ).

Oh I certainly have days where I wish I still had just one, like when Kenai is poopig all over. lol But I know they are both so much happier having a buddy. I love Kenai to death. It's impossible to look at his little baby face and not be in love. It is also very rewarding watching them interact and bond. Their bond has grown so much stronger over the (2) years and it is neat watching them love on each other.

I have 2 females and they both live separated. I think that a lot of problems come from ferrets that are kept together, when they don't want to. Hissing and sis sing are very bad signs, liking in the neck isn't good ether. I find it very happy for the ferret to live alone and play whit me. But it is a lot off work. at 1 time i had 3 ferrets that all live and play alone. I spend over 5 houwers a day to keep them bizzy. But i have to say, my hole house is part of their territory
