The revolution will protect them aa month so as long as you treat everyone within a month youll be fine. You can order revolution online. I used to get mine from Australia.

Do the ferrets flip out and try and run away when you drip olive oil in their ears? Because mine do. not. like. the commercial ear drop solution. I don't know if it's because it's cold and wet or if it irritates them somehow. Maybe room temp oil will feel better? I'm willing to try some olive oil and it would be cheaper too. I never get to actually swab my poor fuzzies ears with a q tip because they go nuts after the drops go in. Or do you not bother with q tips at all? I know you have to be very careful when putting one in their ear, just as with a human you don't want to go too far. Advice is appreciated!

Hello. I was wondering if this is a good brand to use for an ear cleaning solution. I use it on and off with Olive Oil. It says its good to use for ferrets: www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=19684I have the wipes and the drops. My ferrets hate it when I drop it in their ears, but does anyone know if it is an okay brand to use? Ingredients: water, glycerin, malic acid, dimethicone, salicylic acid, benzoic acid They shake their head when I put it in, would it harm them if they ingested it do you think?

I just read this about dimethicone
Silicone Oils (eg dimethicone, cyclomethicone, copolyol) can clog the skin like plastic wrap and cause tumours when painted on lab animals (according to the Material Safety Data Sheet supplied by the manufacturer).
Does that mean we should stay away from these products?

Hi I would simply stick with good old olive oil I have used for over 48 years with no problems ! simply place a little in an eye dropper tube or an old ear drop bottle warm to blood heat by holding in your hand a few mins ( if its cold it makes them jump ) then drip a few drops down and massage the ear well wipe around the inside of the ear to remove excess ( don't use q tips to go canal diving |) the next day repeat and see what gunk has emerged if you have other ferrets in the house don't expect to find any they clean each others ears over night and seem to find olive oil like ferret crack ! lol its harmless mine also get 1 tsp a day on there meat to keep coat and skin supple and fur shiny hope this helps take care bye for now Bev

Okay I'll stick with that. Thanks!
This stuff always gets in my Ferrets mouths when they shake their head, and I've seen them lick it. Do you think that'll hurt them?
