Big Questions with "little answers"
Diabetes and insulinoma at the same time: Insulinoma is caused by pancreatic tumors, insulin resistance is not a disease of the Pancreas, which creates the insulin. Just because he insulin receptors are "shot" does not guarantee that the insulin receptors are working well. As mentioned in the publication, some of the hormonal/steroidal treatments seem to elevate blood sugar in ferrets (Lupron and Des. are becoming more commonly used these days, so we may see more cases of diabetes over time.)
obese and have hepatic lipidosis at the same time? hepatic lipidosis can be caused by several things - not just rapid weight loss. One thing that's known to cause hepatic lipidosis, which ferrets get VERY EASILY, is long term /high-dose use of steroids/pred.
