I just got one without feet and a stretchy sure fit slip cover to prevent injuries in the fold out bed. You can get them for $30 at walmart.

I bought a really thin piece of plywood for under the couch. Cut it to size then nailed it on.

My sofa pretty much sits on the floor so the ferrets can't get under it, but I though it might be useful for other people.
