I just picked up a bottle of new salmon oil at my holistic pet store and like a dummy I didn't check the ingredients it's two ingredients - salmon oil and rosemary extract. My understanding is that rosemary is an antioxidant but is this ok to give them daily for dry skin?

I've noticed this a lot lately...the new "in" is rosemary. I personally would not use this on my ferret. I've read articles that have claimed everything from it's absolutely harmless to it can cause seizures. In pet food it's used as a preservative. I know that when using it as a herbal remedy is comes with a caveat in that it can cause allergic reaction, seizures in small dogs and cats...so that would (for me) include ferrets. www.thedogpress.com/DogFood/Rosemary-Neurotoxin-10032_Liquorman.aspciao
