I knew someone with an extreme WS ferret. Her name was Pauly Fruit-Bat. Cause that's exactly what she looked like.

A FRES member fosters a girl with a more extreme version of WS as well. Her legs are super stubby, as is her tail. Her head is much flatter than any pics we've got here. Eyes are very odd. Body is tiny, with a larger stomach. She seldom plays, is super gentle, deaf as a post. Loves to snuggle. And her life expenctancy is much shorter than other ferrets, simply because of her genetic abnormalities

I have 2 deafies here and will check the abnormalities in the morning. Both are female- one was born with splayed legs- she kinda petal walks her rear legs. Both are screamers ..

Trixie's Bat Face picture! That is the best picture ever! I jsut had to add I compared Kenai and Koda's legs, and Kenai's legs are definitely a fair bit shorter, even though they are both similar in body length.

she kinda petal walks her rear legs. This sounds like Kenai! We always joke about how he uses his back legs like pedals and looks like a cartoon character. I always figured it was because he was so fat...

Thor's legs are very short and gives him a funny hoping gait. Coupled with a flattened skull, eye abnormality (his tail isn't particularly short) but his whole body is. He's just a funny little fellow, actually it gives him that perpetual "kit appearance" ciao

My Fenton is most likely WS and I've always noticed his legs seemed shorter for his body than other ferrets I've seen lol...

I think Gomez may have WB? I'm not sure though, i may just be being paranoid. He's slower than the others, slightly deaf. Used to be a terrible biter then we got him desexed and he's a sweet angel now he's one of our societies mascots and the best show ferret because he will sleep on anyone and give kisses. Always leaves a good impression ^ That was him at 1 1/2 - 2 years old he's on the left ^ him at 8 weeks old when I got him He's a big mama's boy. Doesn't like to climb. Only really war dances when he's playing with me or my mum. He's really bonded with my other male Bert. He's not that vocal either. He has white 'knee' spots and a flat head Three of my ferts have the white knee spots... One of my girls is almost identical to Gomez in colouring and patterns.. also sorry if i posted in a dead thread

Haha, not to worry, all the picture threads are always "open" for anyone who wants to post. And we are more than happy to see ferret pics!! He is certainly a cutie. I don't know much about WS, but he is soooo adorable!

What a sweetheart! It's possible, although his head looks fairly normal to me. There is a broad spectrum for WS though. And just because a ferret is slow or deaf, doesn't always mean WS.

Looking at his face I would say no, but that doesn't mean that there aren't other factors that make it so. Waardenburg kids carry a wide variety of "symptoms" and sometimes it doesn't show up in facial structures. Sherry...do you remember the member on this forum who adopted the 5 or 6 wee fuzzies from the lab?? I can't remember her forum name but her wee girl (the one that passed) was a Waardenburg baby and she didn't have the "typical" waardenburg facial structure but she was a Waardenburg baby ciao
