So because there was still 1 gerbil left when I got home I only gave them 1 rat.

That is so awesome colorguarder08!! You will find that they will love the whole prey much better then frankenprey, if you end up doing a couple of meals of raw meat from other sources. My ferret loves his whole prey the most and he never leaves carcass behind on any given day. lol He does leave a few bites of other meats though. I do a combination of frankenprey and whole prey.

This morning I was feeding them decided to give them a total of 4 rats 3 were solid white and they didn't pay much attention to initially but the 4th on that's the one they wanted. DiNozzo snatched it out of my hand and they fought over it.the only difference is that the 4th one had a brown spot but apparently that made it the most enticing. They still have 2 whole rats and a tail+hind legs of one left. Tomorrow we do hamsters.

Apparently I need to have a talk with DiNozzo about his manners. This morning he snatched up his hamster and took off running. I barely had my hand out of the bag. I know he isn't starving as I placed an additional rat in their cage last night before bed leaving them with 3 rats over 8 hours. Gave them 4 large hamsters this morning and we shall see how they do with the mice tonight. I'm thinking they prefer darker fur over white. But overall this has been the absolute easiest way to feed them. I may still have to supplement with franken prey until we figure out the actual amounts to order each month but overall I am liking whole prey the best, and it seems they are as well. Found out my quails are only babies so just treats sadly but next order I think I will include some guinea pigs. Aside from the expense I feel better giving my guys their natural prey and knowing that I'm not screwing up their ratios or making them deficient in anything. A little weird I know but I really like the whole prey feeding method and I am loving how not picky my boys are.

That is awesome!!! If it wasn't so expensive I would be doing the same!! But I think the guy here in Canada that I get the mice from is gouging me and everyone else that buys from him. He's got no competition so why not. I'm paying double then when I got it from another guy who has since closed his shop. So glad your ferrets are loving the whole prey! There will not be any food left. Every time I give whole prey he leaves nothing but a tail and a hind foot. lol Some of his frankenprey he tends to leave a few bites. lol
