So this is really weird behavior...and I'm not sure if this is normal or not - but whenever I take my ferrets in the carrying case to some new place they've never been they go and have a fun time....and then when I come home they stay inside the carrying case. Are they trying to tell me they don't want to go home? They may peek their head out for a bit but then they all snuggle back up in the case for some reason like they think we are going somewhere. Is that weird?

Sounds like they like their travelling case. If they're snuggled up and warm, they have no desire to leave their comfy spot

Agreed. They simply enjoy being in the case. I leave mine out all the time. When the ferrets are tired I often find them curled up in it.

The funny thing is that while I'm moving them they are clawing and going crazy trying to get out. Then when I let them out they hang out in the cage. Haha, I dont get it.

What ferret likes a closed door:)))
Mine do not like the carrier on the way to the vets either and reluctantly get out when I let them out at the house. Mine tests the waters when I open the carrier. Like, where are we now? My ferret likes their cages too because the doors stay open I think.
Although I do have one who really likes a drawer.

I put a hammock in my little ferret carrier and he will sleep in there when he can. He likes his carrier too.

Our two really like trips out that involve the carrier, and will often be found trying to open the door of the carrier when out and about playing. I know leave the door open for them and they'll snuggle down in there. They even close the door behind them when they go in there.
Funny old things these animals..
