My trio has been eating turkey since I started raw! I buy a whole “utility” turkey (not “good enough” for people because it’s missing a limb or in this case it’s skin was too thick) and cut it up, portion it out, and freeze it for later and they have never had a problem. This turkey sat cut up in the fridge for 2-3 days before I had time to portion and freeze it but it smelled and looked fine and it was just plain turkey, nothing added or seasoned. But they resist eating it. I can’t figure out why! They will eat a piece here and there or will eat half of it but even when I hand it to them and dab it on their nose they won’t take it. I’ve covered it in fish oil and mixed it with other meat which sort of works. Out of their usual 4oz they will eat about half.
Would they refuse to eat it at all if it was bad? What’s different about this turkey? I got over 30 meals out of it so I’m a bit hesitant to throw it all away. Why can’t they just tell me what’s wrong with it 😫

Hmmm, it could be too bacterial laden for them to eat. They know this. ciao HOW DO FERRETS ALWAYS KNOW!?!? Every single time! They wake up and wait by the front door before I even know that I’m leaving! They scratch at the gate every morning 5 min before my alarm. They even know to wake up demand attention as soon as I sit down for dinner. Sigh, I ended up throwing out all of the turkey. Ferrets do know all.
