While I was looking at buying more fish oil for my furry ones I noticed that several ones came with “added vitamin E”
I looked it up and apparently fish oil can cause vitamin E deficiencies. But it’s also a fat soluble vitamin so it can build up in a system if you ingest too much. On a side note, fish oil and vitamin E are also a strange home remedy for a bigger behind... google is odd.
So what do people here think? Is fish oil with added vitamin E ok to give to your ferrets?
I hate to say it but the fish oil and vitamin E mix is a lot cheaper than the other kind. It also comes with a mix of different kinds of wild fish and it’s a squirt bottle instead of a pump which is a plus for me (I’ve had bad experiences with way too much coming out!) I’m cool with shelling out more for the pure stuff and can live with having to transfer it to another bottle but I’m not ok with giving them something that’s worse/dangerous for them. Fish oil is my go to treat and the best way to distract my squirmy curious trio so it’s important that it’s a solid plus!
