So tonight I’ve cut some lamb into tiny pieces and so far she has licked it for a second then ran away. She chewed some a little when I gave it from my hand and then gagged. I took her kibble away and I left the lamb in her cage for tonight. Fingers crossed she gets hungry and gives in.

It worked!!! All the lamb is gone! So happy lol so I’ve cut up some chicken livers to leave in there while I’m at work.

Oh that is excellent! Make sure she has enough to eat. Also she REALLY needs to eat some bone in meals

Tonight is heart night for jonbenet so I thought id cut up som hearts and also some chicken wings for her to have overnight. So far with anything bone in she seems to just bite it but not actually eat any of it, so im just going to try cutting it up smaller and hopfully that helps.

Worked up the menu for the both of my girls for the rest of this week as well as next.. Jonbenet is already fully transitioned to raw, as far as caylee I will be using this menu, and probably cutting hers into smaller pieces or making soups to get her to like it better.. please let me know if you think I should make any changes to this menu! (I cut out turkey necks next week just because jonbenet really doesn't like them its the only thing she usually has significant left over with) Sherry , Heather , I would really also love your opinion on this menu, between here and the FB you two have been super helpful when transitioning jonbenet and given me great advice lately with caylee. TIA everyone!

Slight change after some advice from heather on the fb page (the turkey is necks that I do smash up slightly so they actually eat the bones if I don't they just leave the bones)

Either looked okay What you can do bone wise is either smash up a bit more and slowly smash less over time. Personally if I have a good idea they are capable of eating bone, but just refusing- I use a bit of "tough love". However you have to know they are healthy first. I give half portions of what they would normally eat. Example I used ONE chicken wing for 4 ferrets. I segmented, cut the middle section in between the bones, and cut the drumette lengthwise to expose the marrow. Next meal I removed the leftovers and put in a new one. Each meal they'd eaten a wee bit more and finally after 3 days they were actually comsuming the bone.

So last night I left a bunch of the smashed up chicken wing along with a few small cut up pieces that were a bit larger and she DEVOURED it! it wasn't all gone by morning but she ate a lot more then she had been with the chicken before =] very happy. tonight were doing more lamb since I know she likes it and tomorrow night the heart and organs will really put her to the test!

To get them on bone, make sure to feed a few meals in a row so they don't learn to hold out for what they want.
