This chart is my new best friend Definitely helpful to see how "normal" raw poops look nothing like normal kibble poops. I think that's the hardest thing for new raw feeders to wrap their heads around, definitely took me a while!

I know what you mean ;D Same here! And this chart is courtesy of Erinn, over at Ferret Harmony. It's crossposted here with her permission, since she's the one who pulled it together.

This is an awesome chart. I was watching the poop change as I added more raw, but now I know what to look out for. Thanks Sherry and thanks Erinn if you are watching.

:oThis is a little gross, but this stool is strange looking. He has been getting mostly gizzard and veal with a little heart thrown in, but he has eaten that combination before and I've never seen this. He did one a little less dramatic as well, but it was still close to this color and texture. Any ideas? Attachments:

It was kind of jello-y and dark clear through. Organ meat maybe? Is chicken gizzard an organ? If so, which one? Can a ferret have too much organ meat? He is acting full of energy and playful, did some wardancing and attack games as well. He's much better on the biting.

That looks like an organ meat poop. Also, any really blood rich meat will do the same thing. Heart is one. Or If you get more organic, natural meats, I find those are far more blood rich as well.

I can check yes on all three of those. He got fish and turkey today though.

It can sometimes take a day or so to go back to normal, depending on how they react to organ meats, especially until their bodies are accustomed to them.

What about this frothy, mostly liquid poop? The bubbles stayed until it dried, so it was pretty viscous for a liquid. I've changed diet to rotating between mostly chicken, salmon, calf liver and some Origen salmon kibble and got this odd poop most recently. My other ferret just chows down. His poops are just fine for the most part. He is the alpha though, can he stress my other guy enough to cause this? Ooor, is this a combination of foamy/bubbly poop and watery poop? In any case, I know he's hydrated. Attachments:
